@@derikk3215 The more unassuming a guy acts, the more attracted a girl gets. The irony is that no guy who is a catch is that unassuming if they're being honest 😅
the moment he sees her break the fourth wall lives in my head rent free. it's just such a gorgeous way of showing their connection. he's the only one that's noticed it because he sees her. pwb is a genius.
Yes! If you haven't seen him as Ripley in Netflix's "Ripley" then watch it. It's amazing and way better than Matt Damon's version of Ripley which is saying a lot since I actually like Matt Damon. I've watched "Ripley" twice in large part due to Andrew Scott's performance.
I'm so happy you are experiencing this show for the first time and so grateful you are sharing that experience with us. It really is one of a kind. Can't wait to see your reactions to what's coming ahead - it won't disappoint.
I love the portrayal of Claire's anxiety that seems to erupt when Fleabag is around. She really _knows_ and _sees_ Claire, and her presence shatters those fragile compartmentalizations of her life. Her "funny and interesting" self she says she usually is at work, and the self that doesn't want to deal with who her husband really is, are different from who she is around Fleabag. She acts jealous and frustrated, but I think she just feels exposed. Which is not abnormal. Family especially can do that to you, since they knew you first. Mixing circles is difficult. But it can make you face up to some of the lies you're telling yourself _about_ yourself.
Which, now that I think about it, ties nicely into the scenes with the priest, who seems to really see Fleabag in a similar way. And like Claire, she is thrown by it. I could go on and on with that thought but I'll wait for the show to explore them more.
A big theory of sorts in the fandom is that whenever she “breaks the fourth wall”, she’s disassociating or something along those lines, thinking to herself and speaking to something that isn’t really there, and it just so happens to align with her seemingly communicating to us. So, whenever Hot Priest notices, it’s like he’s noticing her disassociating from the present, and when he questions and seeks her out, he anchors her to the present reality
The only time I remember going to the cinema is to watch The English Patient. I read the book and had a crush on Juliette Binoche, who stars in the film, so had to see it. Anyway, the woman that plays Belinda - kristin Scott Thomas - also had a starring role in the film. I remember thinking she was one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen. Still looks amazing.
Man I’ve seen this episode so many times and watched reactions to it many times. I’ve thought a lot about how cleverly Phoebe set up having a love interest that’s celibate and how both Fleabag and the Priest have their own demons etc. But only now hearing the Priest talk about how having sex “won’t bring anything good” have I realised how similar he and Fleabag are. Probably a state the obvious moment from me but didn’t Fleabag say something similar to the therapist? Sex didn’t bring anything good - referring to Boo and the tragedy that happened.
When he noticed her breaking the fourth wall my jaw hit the floor
Right?? It's such an amazing moment and this episode is so great, as are all of them and the series as a whole is in my top ten favorites of all time.
My favourite moment of TV from that year. Incredible.
Agreed. And yet they barely noticed and decided to talk about phobias for the entire recap. As if that's the takeaway.
Yeah, I'm gonna piss some people off, but Phoebe Waller Bridge did the 4th wall way more artistically than Ryan Reynolds has.

"This is my catering. She's the sister"
This is my first time catching that line
"A huge thank you to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John..."
Genuinely SO FUNNY how does phoebe just write that in and then move the dialogue right on past
The way that's two jokes in one.
i forgot how great andrew scott was with the fox lmaoooo the wild fear in his eyes is amazing

@@jainthorne4136 he's so good in Ripley, but I find it hard to believe anyone could prefer the Netflix show to the movie
That scene in the bar with Belinda is so hypnotic to watch: the performances, the writing. I've rewatched it countless times.
The continued saga of the statue is hilarious
I’d forgotten how brilliantly written this was, she’s an extraordinarily clever girl.
"Many many times"
"How many?"
"MANY" 👁👄👁
The look he gives her after saying that tho. 🥵
He can see her fourth wall. She can see his fox.
Powerful stuff. Very significant.
The moment he sees her looking at us is the most brilliant moment in TV history.
it's the way that they both SEE each other. she saw the fox that's following him, and he notices her "going somewhere" breaking the fourth wall.

One of my favourite moment in all of tv is when he spots the 4th wall break
Ok “what do you mean, interesting?” Is flat out one of the funniest lines I’ve ever heard I actually laughed out loud
Mannnn the ending of this episode. I NEED THIS. So long to wait ahhhh! 😂
I’ve wanted “I don’t know what they want from me!” embroidered on a throw pillow ever since I first watched this ep 😂🦊😂

I love your genuine concern about Pam😂
When I watched this first time around and he notices the fourth wall break I screamed.
I love the best women in business so much. Fleabag needed to hear that from a woman she admires so bad.
One of the greatest epusodes of television ever? The upping of the game that he notices her speaking to us is amazing.
The fox eas right there.
I died as she revealed that his name is Klare 🤣🤣🤣
I absolutely love this show and this until the end is literally perfection

Ahh, great episode! Claire's office is HUGE!
For 58 that woman looked great
Kristen Scott Thomas, I've had a huge crush on her for years.
@@rikmoran3963 All smart people have a crush on her. She's glorious.
I had to take off my glasses so they would survive all the involuntary facepalms xD
The fear of being boring is absolutely terrifying
I love Belinda, she's great

"No thank you, Diet Jesus is fine."

All that in just one episode... WOW.
13:41 those words hit harder when your sister actually told them to you
I love Claire and Klare together. Drop that hideous husband of yours, Claire, and enjoy Finland! 😉😄
I'm 64. Belinda is 100% correct. ❤
About which part?
I think he noticed her breaking the fourth wall because he’s the only one who really REALLY listens to her

I crying from laughing so hard at the fox. 🦊
Fun Fact: foxes are like raccoons around London. They come out at night and eat trash and roam around the streets!
Homies, it's a crime that your discussion on this episode after was not longer.
forgot how absolutely bangin this episode is. Clare is my favourite character.
I’m sure the chef conversation in the Forks episode of The Bear was inspired by this one
for some reason, i dont thnk any other line in media has impacted me more than "people are all we got".
Mathew Mark luke and John is hilarious
ugh that damn fox
Love this channel
Belinda was great!
"..I'm gonna unfriend you on Facebook.." PLZ lol not the blood pressure cuff lmaoo
Hi Maple ❤️
Wonderful ✨
I can’t wait for another ep of Stranger Things !!!😊
Cotton wool, I hate it. I don't like the noise it makes.
I thought you said “Diet Jesus”.
