Fucking hell this tune is such a banger. It's really refreshing watching a tutorial where I actually want to keep listening to the track repeated. Normally the tunes mastered in tutorials are awful and it's such a struggle to have to listen to that crap over and over as stuff gets explained. Great video. Excellent charisma.
Dude!!! You've increased the quality of my Mastering Tenfold!!! Learning to Record, Mix, and Master on my own has been a daunting trial, and it is videos like this that have made that journey possible. I just finished mastering my EP and I'm just blown away by what I've been able to accomplish. Thanks so much!!!!

especially as a beginner producer I have realized that mastering is the hardest part. Mixing is difficult too but doable but mastering is really difficult to do so far lol
In this tutorial mixing and mastering engineer Guido from "Cat & Beats" is mastering a track from start to finish using Ableton Live 11 only - no third-party audio effects.
Last tip I forgot to mention. Your master is not finished at this point. You will need to listen back and automate accordingly to make sure your master still translates ;)
how would you go about "automating accordingly?" Do you use multiple presets and cue them on the time line? Last one: do some songs need fewer/more persets?
@@garrettspies8970 Great question. What I mean is not presets but you automation eq bands for instance or the limiter itself. Generally speaking just giving a little bump for the drop is very nice to do. Things of this nature. If you are interested in this kind of stuff check my channel and the mixing series there
Thank you so much for this tutorial. This is a great explanation of how to learn the fundamentals mainly using already installed tools. I like this practice because it helps to understand other 3rd party tools down the line. I watched this once and then implemented this on one of my songs and I definitely can notice the difference between the mix down, premaster, and master versions. Thanks again!
While a really basic tip, the recommendation to turn off the visualizer to really hone in on the levelling with only your hearing is so huge. It's one of those beginner tweaks that sets you up for years of success. Thanks for the vid Guido ❤🔥
It's so pleasing to me, listening to Guido and learning from him! :) He has the knowledge and humor for an awesome learning experience. Keep up the great work, man!
Thanks for the great tutorial! I dont really understand though why my tracks are still super quiet on soundcloud.... i followed all steps. Do you have some advice?
Love your style :D Thank you for this tutorial, very handy as always. I found this loudness meter today and was wondering how to utilise it effectively and kaboom you show up in this video using this plugin :D thanks once more
Hey I wanted to thank you so much for all of the tips and ways of approaching the mix and master, you are a legend! When you activate the second eq for the makeup compensation, why did you add gain on the 1k frequencies if you were compressing in the low end?
Presumably, most or all of the mastering tools are removed from the free version that comes with some hardware. It would be interesting to see how far a track can get towards completion with only the demo software.
first time I "lolled" in a tutorial, GOOB....hahaha that's gold You sir are becoming one of my favorites! You got a talent for teaching....awesome stuff! funny and really informative. a limiter should be about it to be honest.. don't suggest doing much more than the usual peaks on a dj set..

can you get a professioal loud mix e master with only ableton stock plugins?

Question: shouldn´t we not peak more than 14Lufs for streaming services? If that´s the aiming.
