Mahogany is many types. Top three are Honduran, Mexican and Cuban Mahogany which are called genuine Mahogany. These are sweitenia varieties. Next five are African Mahogany out of which one - Madagascar variety - is not available outside. These five African Mahogany varieties are of different genus called "Khaya." These are less expensive but faster growing varieties. Next 10 or so are mixed varieties which are not Mahogany proper but sell in same market at lower prices.

In real scenario to get 1 ft girth for 20 ft long you need 18-20 years...in 10-12 years not possible...after 20 years one can expect 30-40k per tree according to present maket price...but if you cut after 30 years then it will fetch 1-1.2 lakh per tree...you sow it, next generation will reap the benefits...

@@subhajitdebnath5187 take a 90% survival rate...if you plant 7*7 ft then in one acre you should have atleast 700 tree survived after 20 years. It converts into more than 2 crore in today's price...for original Burma Teak(Try to get good quality tissue culture Burma Teak...identity...crush the leaf...original will give maroon extract) or Mahogany (African)...but if you can hold it upto 30 years...especially Mahogany...one tree will fetch more than 1.5 lakh each...
In 20 years I can earn 2 crore

This is very illogic, I have planted 4years back in two acres. At distance 9ft X 9ft. I have made buy back agreement with a party for regular consultation and wood selling. My experience many people are misguiding farmers with wrong information. As per forest dept scientists min 20ft spacing and 20years waiting time is suggested. People selling thes saplings are making money by selling at high rates giving false information about benifits.
