My Mom is 75 years old and she listens to Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, etc. I’ve exposed her to Nightwish and she, too gets those chills when Floor sings. She said, after listening to quite a few songs, “I cannot believe I’m enjoying heavy metal music” and also used the term “epic” to describe most of their songs.
Well you mom has great taste in music that is all that needs to be said. I'm old enough to have heard those icons from the 60's (Hendrix, Doors, Stones, etc) and then the great metal birth of the 70's from Black Sabbath to AC/DC and like Nightwish they all had one common trait like all great musicians they were great LIVE, something you can't fake and needed no software or auto-tune to create and deliver that magic. Your Mom is proof that is never too late to truly enjoy great music!!
Even Metallica is considdered ''Metal'' (their own words btw). I'm an Metallica fan sinds their first album...Nightwish fan sinds about 10 years ^^ both bands are great...and yes...there are soooo many more ''Metal'' bands who dont get the attention they should get 😁😊🤘🤘🎶🎶🤘🤘💞😊
My favorite Nightwish song. That slow, heavy chugging along with those brutal machine gun drums in the second half, and then that ending - it's like being repeatedly hit in the face with a sledgehammer made out of pure sound. Loved the reaction 😀
Sorry about the audio guys. Hopefully the subtitles help.. I want to do a lyrics analysis/interpretation but the video would end up being 20 minutes long. I'm thinking of doing separate lyric interpretation videos (especially for Nightwish songs since they're complex). Would you be interested in that?
Interested yes, but with Nightwish lyrics, there's often some research involved, and getting into the head of Tuomas the composer and his interests and obsessions and reading list, so it will involve some work.
Subtitles were really good. Actually, I liked this way more than speaking over the music. Every NW song is a story, so lyrics are really important. Some songs are related to real life and then lyrics are even more important, cos they tell real life story, not just fictional story. But cos Tuomas is poet..., opening lyrics might sometimes be reeeaally difficult. Sample, old song Kinslayer. It might be difficult to understand what is going on, why they sing about candles, different colors and amounts of them... But when you know that song is about Columbine school shooting and candles represent dead people, colors means dead boys, girls and also shooters (2 black candle). After understanding this, lyrics will open totally different way.
One thing rarely said about Nightwish is the excellence of Emppu on the lead guitar. Unlike most other metal bands he doesn't go off on long guitar solos just to show his skill (he could) but instead they are all integrated into the total sounds of the band. That makes them more relevant and definitely more valued when they do happen. It would be a difficult job to find weaknesses in any of the band members, a job needing a better musician than me.
a little secret though: a few seconds before "she is my sin" Floor was introduced to the crowd. The song itself is quite good, too. The other reactors do they same thing you see here now. They hop through the same loops people want to see them jump. Try "She is my sin, Wacken 2013". Most people agree it is a good song, as is the whole concert in Wacken.
whahaha that face that said enough! 🤣 this version is certainly also very close to perfection! that voice, with that band is God's gift to humanety! this song shows exactly what the reach of Floor' s voice is, and of course what they can do together .. to perform this song in this way, everything must be perfectly timed, they are so thight. so much talent in this setup !! Love them🤟😍
Part of the appeal of NW for me is the bands visual performance. I've rarely seen a band that interacts with each other during a song as much as they do...and then the crowd joins in...just outstanding 👍 Great reaction!😊
Merry Christmas and thank you for doing this song. It is my favorite Nightwish song. I have a surprise for you. This is not the whole song. The original was sung by Anette the second singer. The other half of the song is made up of family and friends reciting a poem with Tuomas's beautiful music in the background. This song was inspired by a Walt Whitman(I think) poem. If you listen to it pick out one with the lyrics. Yes Tuomas's lyrics are sometimes really hard to break down. That is why knowing some history of the band and Tuomas helps you to understand the lyrics some times. Also Nightwish has done around 120 songs. They have a new album coming out next year. If you stay away from the ones that are requested a lot, you should be able to listen to some of their other songs. That way you could get familiar with the first and second singers, and hear the evolution of the band. I don't think there will be a song that you hate. You may not be thrilled with all of them, but there are none so terrible that you would no want to hear it at least once. I know that sounds crazy, but since I discovered them about 4 years ago I have listened to all of their songs. You just don't know what to expect when you hear one of their songs for the first time. I am done babbling. Hope you are having a nice holiday............... :-)
Ann Waychoff your not babbling Ann I’ve learned more from you about a band that I loved for more than 20 years still can’t believe your knowledge about the band is so detailed after only 4 years. I’m glad you reach out to these reactors young and old to help them in their journey-your not indoctrinating but educating them, because let’s face it they are already hooked and enchanted you are just giving them a helping hand in mapping out their discovery trail. We see it in their faces( I do watch their reactions over and over again because that must be my face and emotion the first time I heard their music. Have a great holiday season and I great new year🤘
@@frankpuncekar5051 Thank you for your kind words. I think without some history of the band it can be confusing to them. You are right it is like discovering them again. What a great feeling that was. Hope you are having a great holiday season.......... :-)
This is one of my favourite live performances ever and your face was such a joy to watch. Magical stuff, eh? Everything is perfect, IMO: the vocals, the lyrics, the music, the video editing, the lights and pyros... Just 10/10. And honestly, I don't think there's any band that is still around that gets on their level. Something like Queen or Led Zeppelin back in the day, but not anymore.
That's right! They provide availability of all the beauty of heavy music even for those who prefer different type of music. They literally bring it to perfection.
Loved this reaction.. seen it a couple times and its my favourite reaction to Song of Myself.. Especially when Marco joins.. :) You like a kid in the candystore.. Love it!
Hi from the UK. Nightwish...There are few words. You have experienced a classic "Floorgasm"! Floor is a six foot one inch Dutch Valkerie who is classically trained. Great reaction. Stay safe.
Great reaction! You have such an expressive face and stunningly beautiful smile. I find you are quickly becoming my favorite reaction channel on TH-cam, as well (in no small part because you have fallen in love with my favorite band!) Nightwish is such an awesome ride.. they are progressive, symphonic, heavy, heavenly and epic all at once! How does anyone accomplish all of that?!? Song of Myself is probably my favorite Nightwish song and this live version with Floor is amazing. The studio version is very good as well, done with their previous singer Annette Olzon. It also has a second act to it which is various people reading snippets of poetry set to Tuomas's music.. you should check it out! I am eagerly awaiting your reaction to Poet and the Pendulum from the 2016 Live at Wembley Concert, and please - PLEASE - check out Nightwish in their original lineup (TarjaTurunen was the original singer) doing The Phantom of the Opera from the End of an Era Concert. Enjoy your journey, dear one! Cheers!!
It’s a Floorgasm, People who love metal and are introduced to Nightwish have to add to their vocabulary to explain the music of Nightwish, angelic beautiful epic extraordinary or wonderful words that generally are not used to discribe Metal, I would suggest Yours is an empty Hope, cruise ship live, or you mention other bands, try Epica feat. Floor Jansen Sancta Terra, most Nightwish fans love Epica and Visa versa. Love your reactions🤘
I never knew metal could be so beautiful is what came to my mind. Heavenly aggressive is another good one. Glad to see another person get the same feels as I. I look forward to more of your posts. My recommendation for a heavy tune is "yours is an empty hope".
Great description, I have heard it called Angelic Metal as well either term you get the same great experience. Floor and the band are truly a match made in heaven!!
And to top it off please Read up on the back story for that song, it makes it even more epic, and its a powerfull song especially if you read up on the last part of the song lyrics
these composers of music are so creative with their arrangements like were sounds should go or what they should should like and what color they should have
Loved your surprise and pure joy listening to the the music. don't think it can top this cause this one is epic ( my opinion ). but for something completly different Marco and Floor singing arve maria at a christmas concert is pretty special. but now you need to listen to ghost river for more Marco. In Ever dream he sings to ( not as heavy more foke) and not to forget I want my tears back for the last member of Nightwish Troy. ( you havent seen him yet ) Forgot to mention please take of your glases when you headbang to the music ( not during the video but later )
Hey, if you like night wish you should definitely check out devil and the deep dark ocean and slaying the dreamer from their Buenos Aires live show 2018, awesome. Thanks.🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
I absolutely love your reactions. They are so raw, honest, and genuine. I especially love your Nightwish reactions--because they are absolutely epic!!!
Hey this concert (Wacken, 2013) was magic that night. Floor was on fire, the band was perfect and the crowd, well the crowd drove the band to this magical place where you truly experienced them not merely heard them that night!! Great reaction and forget the sound your facial expressions are priceless and those you can't fake so we got plenty of great reactions. I also love the quick little comments thrown in during the editing process a very nice touch and done very well by you (short and not that many). Now for a real Folk Metal blast where Floor and Marco (Viking bassist) doing another great duet during the "Jig on Crack" with I Want My Tears Back (th-cam.com/video/ga-hR7CYbwQ/w-d-xo.html) you'll love the riffing between Troy's Celtic bagpipes and Emppu's guitar!!! Happy and Peaceful holidays to you and yours and you are now an official addicted fan like the rest of us (LOL)!!!
Very well said my dear....very well said !!! Exactly the same thoughts I had when I first listened to Nightwish...Amazing music, lyrics, fantastic vocals and unique performances !!! Best Metal music I had ever heard in my life !! I really love your reactions, especially the surprised wide open eyes and jaw-dropping moments...!!! 😊 Thank you and please keep Nightwish reactions coming !! 🎄✨
Jesus Crist! Something really magical happend when I was listening to this song. I've heard this song many times before but it gives me great satisfaction to see reactors first listen to their songs. Now to the magic. It's a really shitty weather here in Sweden at the moment and yesterday was a hot day so I have my window open to cool down the appartment. When she goes in to that operatic part there was two heavy thunderclaps right on the beat. That was just amazing. Would have love to record that. Btw great reaction.
Hello, New Nightwish fan here. I've seen hundreds and hundreds of Nightwish reaction videos and this is one of my favorite, even with the mic issue. Your eyes, smiles and moves are incredible 😍. I love the way you react with your whole body, I love all your reations. I hope you're doing well. Thanks for all the feels and contents. 💙
I listen to a lot of music, but in terms of watching a live performance I have to admit that this Wacken concert from Nightwish cannot be topped. What an audience, mesmerised by their music and performance, what a stage presence of musicians, and especially of Floor. She truly dominates the scene, her versatility, her power, her accuracy, she takes you from grunge in one moment to opera next, seamlessly, her confidence cannot be topped. Not a second of doubt for her that she can deliver every aspect of this difficult live set from her side, absolutely incredible. While Ghost Love Score is the most perfect song to highlight all her abilities, this one here is a masterpiece in terms of composition as well as delivery. The melody and the rhythm is insane. Honestly, if Richard Wagner had lived 150 years later, his music would have sounded like Nightwish, writing a 20 hour symphonic metal opera in 4 parts - The theme would fit very well, given that the Ring of the Nibelungs has a Nordic mythology core anyway. So I decided that my love for opera and rock music is coming together with Nightwish, and Floor as the Valkyrie (no coincidence, " the valkyries" in the ring). If I had been at Wacken, I would have taken a bow to Floor at the end
Great Reaction, can sense that 'how can this be?' sensation we've all experienced when being introduced and absorbing Nightwish. You're doing great moving through their catalog, and suggest to soon work into the other two selections of 'the Trilogy', (you've already done Ghost Love Score). The others would be "Poet and the Pendulum' - best one is live at Wembley and a must with Lyrics and very important to do the background story on that song before viewing. It is Autobiographical. Then on from there to 'Greatest Show on Earth', live at Tampere, again good to have onscreen lyrics to following along better. Be sure to stay to the very end on that one, til' the screen goes completely black. Looking forward to enjoying the Nightwish Journey with your reactions, this most wonderful band with the greatest female singer in the world. Don't forget all the episodes of Beste Zangers with Floor as well - talk about versatility. ;-)
Nice reaction! Happy Holidays! For your next NW reaction, I would highly recommend the song 'Ever Dream' from the same Wacken 2013 concert. Followed by 'Ghost River' and 'I want my tears back'!
Well this was the highlight of my day for sure, lovely reaction. Best metal performance you say? Nightwish- The Greatest Show on Earth - Live at Tampere :)
I have to say, being lovely yourself and putting that aside, your expressiveness and openness are truly refreshing and appreciated. I enjoy watching you as much as I do Floor and if there is a better complement I couldn’t find one. You openly express what’s going on inside us all I’m sure.... that’s a gift of its own. Well expressed in every way 👍
Yes, this is epic! You’re right about that people who usually don’t like metal.. can and will just love Nightwish! As an life time techno and trance club banger I’d put them on first row of epicness! Chills, goosbumbs and floorgasms.. after listening tens of times.. words can’t explain what whole body experiences.
Clapperboard is used in film to sync video and audio. It's the little thing that they snap shut. I think most youtubers just use a clap. You can see in the audio where the clap occurs, so you just sync the video for when your hands come together.
Love your articulate, honest, intelligent reactions. Something to top Nightwish in epicness? Honestly, just more Nightwish. Ayreon is epic too, but in another way. I'd give a listen to a defunct band called Manilla Road too, and to Rainbow and Black Sabbath with Dio. But all of these are different and epic in their own way, and in the symphonic metal brand of music, Nightwish is just unsurpassed. Next stop: Ghost River from Wacken, Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from Buenos Aires, or 7 Days to the Wolves from Wembley.
I love your reactions. Authentic, fun, and charming. You simply enjoy the song and don't stop it every 10 seconds to talk all over it. Thanks for that.
This is masterpiece my fav Nightwish piece of all time, glad to see you reacting to it... btw. stop being so beautiful, you can overshadow Floor easily! 😉
Lols, the minor heart attack starting at 5:29 turning in to joy and head banging :) Yet another great reaction! Oh, and please react to 7 Days to the Wolves from Wembley Arena. Mid part and the ending are epic and full of energy.
"Heavenly Metal" ok congratulations you've coined an awesome phrase right there!! We're gonna make you say it every time you react to a Nightwish song. Luv ya MG! :-D
As much as I love Floor, and that's a lot, I do think it's a great boost when Marko gets in there too. He's amazing and they sound great together. They can't over do it, though, or it won't be special anymore! PS, you're just as pretty with the glasses, so don't sweat it! :)
What. A. Range. Can't say how much I love Floor. She's an operatic, metalhead savage. Oh, and beautiful to boot. I'm an ol' fart music lover who didn't even watch metal before finding Nightwish. Love your reactions to this epic music. And oh, BTW, I'm really old and married for 41 years, so I can say this... you are adorable ;)
When you first realized just how amazing this band is, did you have a "Why haven't I heard of Nightwish before" moment? I get it, they're from Finland/Denmark. But still though.... That's a whole other rabbit hole one can go down, the people who MANAGE what music you are more likely to hear. You're awesome by the way - I really dig your reactions :-)
Welcome back. You picked a great song for your return. Floor and the band are great and epic, but I'd like a big shout out to Tuomas for his wonderful creations in writing and arrangements. He is pure genius. Looking forward to more Nightwish reactions from you. Love them.
If you want heavier from Nightwish, Yours is an Empty Hope from the Nightwish cruise. Floor growls the chorus while Marco (epic beard guy) sings. If you want epic, try the appropriately named Epica --- Consign to Oblivion live at the Zenith. Or compromise and do both, Epica ft. Floor --- Sancta Terra live at Retrospect show. That one has an orchestra and choir backing the band.
Finally, my Gebs is back!!! You should see how they open this set... Got to check out "Dark Chest of Wonders" live Wacken 2013... I think your right this style of Symphonic metal allows them to go in multiple directions. If your used to the thrashier heavy side of metal, they have multiple songs to feed that craving, If you like the long epic multipart masterpiece they have multiple songs of that and everything in between. They even have songs with a very celtic sound in songs like "E'lan".. You can always find something to like, or if your like me, just love it all.
Greatest band on Earth - and I'm an old school Maiden, Priest, Motorhead, Sabbath kinda Metalhead who is relatively new to NightWish, so it has blown me away and surprised me that i rate this band above those giants that I've loved for the best part of 40 years! 🤘
It's not a problem that your Mic wasn't recording - this way I enoy the pure bliss in your face and the light in your eyes. I love this reaction - thank you :)
Great reaction from you - and now you have to explore more and deeper Nightwish magic. It's time for The Poet and the Pendulum, Wembley 2015. It heavy - yes - sometimes - it's emotional - yes, it is simply a masterpiece that shows another level of Nightwish's capabilities. It is a "must see" - while this is pure metal in it's most complete form - a total performance. You will not regret - the army will fill you in with background information afterwards Enjoy the ride
You take a dash of classical muic, a dah of metal, and pour some rock into it, to blend it together, not to mention a singer that gives you eargasms and goosebumps where you thought you couldn't get gooosebumps. and the goosebumps is getting goosebumps! In other words, floorgasm.
Great reaction ! Glad your enjoying Nightwish. Let me recommend another phenomenal band with a female vocalists in The Agonist's. They deserve some more exposure.
I love watching you react Nightwish! Seeing your expressions are delightful 🙂 I hope you get to experience them firsthand someday. You bring back my feelings of joy when I discovered them for myself
"I've never heard metal sound so heavenly before"
I think you've summed up Nightwish epicly right there.
Give your Mom a BIGGGG Hugg from all of us 😁🤗🤗💞🎶🎶🎶🎶🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Semper verum zeppelin, purple arent really metal as we now think of it. Modern metal is fairly recent, 80’s onward.
Yes, Nightwish have something special, i can not understand how they do it, everys song is something special.
Even Metallica is considdered ''Metal'' (their own words btw).
I'm an Metallica fan sinds their first album...Nightwish fan sinds about 10 years ^^ both bands are great...and yes...there are soooo many more ''Metal'' bands who dont get the attention they should get 😁😊🤘🤘🎶🎶🤘🤘💞😊
Марко это можно сказать легенда в мире и в многих металл бандах
I saw it !!! mouth hangs open, unstoppable smile, head bouncing, goosebumps, eyes tear up, this is a Floorgasm, welcome to the Nightwish Army
Its Floor Jansen!!! Auto goosebumps activated
My favorite Nightwish song. That slow, heavy chugging along with those brutal machine gun drums in the second half, and then that ending - it's like being repeatedly hit in the face with a sledgehammer made out of pure sound. Loved the reaction 😀
What's most impressive about this song is its live and sounds better than most songs on studio albums

Thank you and please keep Nightwish reactions coming !!
I just love your reactions. Thank you. Nightwish is one of a kind ❤️
YES..YES..YES!!!❤️❤️❤️
Hello,
New Nightwish fan here.
Don't forget all the episodes of Beste Zangers with Floor as well - talk about versatility. ;-)
She got the Nightwish grin on her face! Love it!
Goddess FLOOR 🔥💥🤘💯
Nice reaction! Happy Holidays! For your next NW reaction, I would highly recommend the song 'Ever Dream' from the same Wacken 2013 concert. Followed by 'Ghost River' and 'I want my tears back'!
Nightwish live @ tampere The Greatest Show On Earth
It cannot be described - it must be seen in order to feel.
Her reaction at 4:53 is everything! She’s SO adorable!
It looks like you just found your new favorite song from Nightwish. I can't get enough of this song. An absolute masterpiece
Well this was the highlight of my day for sure, lovely reaction. Best metal performance you say? Nightwish- The Greatest Show on Earth - Live at Tampere :)
Once in a lifetime there rises a legendary band....this time its Nightwish....and I’m seriously not sure if it ever gets any better than this
I have to say, being lovely yourself and putting that aside, your expressiveness and openness are truly refreshing and appreciated.
So many great moments in this one. When Floor stalks that mic, I love that so much. It's like she's going to kill it and then she does. 🤘
nice reaction ........ keep on doing nightwish with floor .grts. from germany
Same face here, my first time listening to this song as well..... I love it. That Marko...... he is just incredible. I`m a Floor addict.
Nightwish really is one of those very rare bands that it's hard to imagine anyone - regardless of their musical tastes - not enjoying.
Next stop: Ghost River from Wacken, Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from Buenos Aires, or 7 Days to the Wolves from Wembley.
what is "intelligent reactions" ?
great reactions! You have a wonderful smile!
She is the TRUE QUEEN
I love your reactions. Authentic, fun, and charming. You simply enjoy the song and don't stop it every 10 seconds to talk all over it. Thanks for that.
Good reaction. This song is so good. That end part is hypnotic 🤘
This needed no words.....your facial expressions said it all!! LOVE THIS!
This is Symphonic Metal !! 🎸🤘 Nightwish Forever!!🤘🤘 Floorgasm !!! 😍❤🤘
This is masterpiece my fav Nightwish piece of all time, glad to see you reacting to it... btw. stop being so beautiful, you can overshadow Floor easily! 😉
Lols, the minor heart attack starting at 5:29 turning in to joy and head banging :)
Yet another great reaction!
Oh, and please react to 7 Days to the Wolves from Wembley Arena. Mid part and the ending are epic and full of energy.
I second 7 Days.
You take my words right out of my mouth! 😍
lol LOVED the reaction on your face when they got to the end. Love waking up to Nightwish reactions in the morning.
Moremoremore...!! Love you'r reactions to Nightwish or Floor in general!!
Yes Beauty....this is Music, go deeper in the History of this fantastic Band ....greetings from Germany
What. A.
I love your facial expressions. This song is one of my favourite. Keep on going with these Nightwish reactions,
When you first realized just how amazing this band is, did you have a "Why haven't I heard of Nightwish before" moment?
I get it, they're from Finland/Denmark. But still though....
That's a whole other rabbit hole one can go down, the people who MANAGE what music you are more likely to hear.
You're awesome by the way - I really dig your reactions :-)
Beautiful hair, beautiful reaction!!! Greetings from Guatemala 🇬🇹🍻
You nailed it. Subscribed! Bring on the Nightwish!
The same with me, normally its not my kind of music, but sinds floor is singing in nightwish, i love it very much.
No other band can top this! Once you've gotten into Nightwish everything else seems ordinary in comparison! 😍🤘
And the most awesome thing is the best is yet to come. Great reaction my hot lady. Keep it up.
Welcome back. You picked a great song for your return. Floor and the band are great and epic, but I'd like a big shout out to Tuomas for his wonderful creations in writing and arrangements. He is pure genius. Looking forward to more Nightwish reactions from you. Love them.
OK, so your 'heavenly metal' expression just made it to the top of all classifications I ever heard about music.
You will not regret - the army will fill you in with background information afterwards
Enjoy the ride
You take a dash of classical muic, a dah of metal, and pour some rock into it, to blend it together,
not to mention a singer that gives you eargasms and goosebumps where you thought
you couldn't get gooosebumps. and the goosebumps is getting goosebumps! In other words, floorgasm.
Great reaction ! Glad your enjoying Nightwish. Let me recommend another phenomenal band with a female vocalists in The Agonist's. They deserve some more exposure.
What a great festival it was - what a great gig it was!!!
Fun fact: I'm on screen for a second in this song ;)
Girl, you are so right and this band is so talented
I love watching you react Nightwish! Seeing your expressions are delightful 🙂 I hope you get to experience them firsthand someday. You bring back my feelings of joy when I discovered them for myself
