      How did you make a long one?

    • @tarotnoble2125

      @@sierradreame814 I measured out a lot of paracord for each one. I can't remember the measurements I used for it, but the cords were long enough to tie mine and my husbands hands for the ceremony.

    Great video. It would of been helpful to tell us the length of cord you used and to show the entire cord at each step. This would help with, for example, how big to make the initial loops. Looking at video I have no idea if the loops were the same length as the remaining cord, half the size of the remaining cord, etc.

  • @DAVIDCSENN
    @DAVIDCSENN 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You can select your finished length at the beginning allowing some extra for the length you loose in the weave.

    Jim Greenwood, judging by the video which appears to use approx. 8 times the finished item length of cord I'd say that's a good place to start experimenting. Or make a short length as a tester,, then undo it and multiply up the cord used. That's how I do it. Hope that helps?

    • @richroc7

      I have it now, however long you want it to be is how long the two bights are in the beginning. They will determine how long it will be.

      looks like you need at least six times the length of your finished product--so I would go for seven times the length and that should work out fine.

    I have asked the same thing in a couple of e-mails. I want to make a belt and I soooo do not want to undo all of it because I didn't have enough or too much cord! We need some sort of idea how much length of loops is lost in the weave. I don't know if we will get an answer, because I have yet to see a responce from him on these posts.

    VERY NICE, great music...For once a demo not sold as SURVIVAL BRACELET! Which are not functional in reality as it will take a long time to undo all the knots and if you only can use one hand then SOL. I daisy chain mine for survival applications, quick deploy. BUT I LOVE the looks and functionality of woven/knotted chord. Plus being Celt= Thank you, Love your video. And yes, in any case, any lenght of extra chord is good to have.

    Well done, JD. I just made a couple of your rattlesnake fobs... first thing I have ever tied, besides sheep's head woggles for Boy Scouts. This one is really cool, and I look forward to tying it. How could a person turn it into a bracelet or belt? (I am new to all this.)

    Ok, so, my mom's boss owns a dojo, and wants me to make belts like this for him, but I'm not a hundred percent sure how to attach the top of it to the buckle. I can do the bottom of it easily, with the left over string, but im not sure how to do it with the top. Any ideas?

    Thanks for this vid. Had to play it in slow motion to get through the initial start up, but then the rest is a breeze. Just made a lanyard (like this 1, but with the Celtic Bar rather than Cobra): img1.etsystatic.com/015/0/7804194/il_570xN.431946941_b5go.jpg.
    Anybody asking, I just tied a 2 string overhand loop (term?) on the end, and left the loop out when I started the celtic bar section (for a keyring). Finished like the video showed, then another basic 2 string overhand that lead into the necklace part of the lanyard, which I attached using a safety release buckle (rather than melt together, OSHA codes at work).
