@@sierradreame814 I measured out a lot of paracord for each one. I can't remember the measurements I used for it, but the cords were long enough to tie mine and my husbands hands for the ceremony.
Wow, people in the comments section are brutal......anyway, I love your tutorials. They are so visually clear that I can watch with the sound off and make it perfectly by the second try. Thanks!
Great video. It would of been helpful to tell us the length of cord you used and to show the entire cord at each step. This would help with, for example, how big to make the initial loops. Looking at video I have no idea if the loops were the same length as the remaining cord, half the size of the remaining cord, etc.
Jim Greenwood, judging by the video which appears to use approx. 8 times the finished item length of cord I'd say that's a good place to start experimenting. Or make a short length as a tester,, then undo it and multiply up the cord used. That's how I do it. Hope that helps?
this is really awesome! it looks just like a sailor knot, but so much easier so thank you! the onlu think is how would i be able to make that into a bracelet, tie it shut?
I'm experimenting with using the door knocker knot on one end and then taking the free strings to tie a ball on the other, and use those as the clasp...
is there a way to make this into a bracelet with snap buckle. i have the material and would like to try but cant figure out how to attach the buckle. any help?
Excellent instruction. I'm going to try with leather cord. (Music distracting for me. Sorry, but think it was recorded at too high a volume and is distorting. Could easily fix I think.:D)
I have asked the same thing in a couple of e-mails. I want to make a belt and I soooo do not want to undo all of it because I didn't have enough or too much cord! We need some sort of idea how much length of loops is lost in the weave. I don't know if we will get an answer, because I have yet to see a responce from him on these posts.
VERY NICE, great music...For once a demo not sold as SURVIVAL BRACELET! Which are not functional in reality as it will take a long time to undo all the knots and if you only can use one hand then SOL. I daisy chain mine for survival applications, quick deploy. BUT I LOVE the looks and functionality of woven/knotted chord. Plus being Celt= Thank you, Love your video. And yes, in any case, any lenght of extra chord is good to have.
Well done, JD. I just made a couple of your rattlesnake fobs... first thing I have ever tied, besides sheep's head woggles for Boy Scouts. This one is really cool, and I look forward to tying it. How could a person turn it into a bracelet or belt? (I am new to all this.)
Ok, so, my mom's boss owns a dojo, and wants me to make belts like this for him, but I'm not a hundred percent sure how to attach the top of it to the buckle. I can do the bottom of it easily, with the left over string, but im not sure how to do it with the top. Any ideas?
it's perfect:)! but, only one thing: What kind of rope do you use for do that???? I don't find nothing like this and I can't do it with a normal rope. please write me soon:)
can anyone thats tied the celtic before tell me how to get the loops even 10 times i've tried and everytime one side is longer than the other so can't get the finish right
Gracias alma hermosa por compartir estas bellezas que hace tienes manos de angel.. Dios le bendiga y los angeles le acompañen siempre...gracias gracias gracias ...te amo.
Thanks for this vid. Had to play it in slow motion to get through the initial start up, but then the rest is a breeze. Just made a lanyard (like this 1, but with the Celtic Bar rather than Cobra): img1.etsystatic.com/015/0/7804194/il_570xN.431946941_b5go.jpg. Anybody asking, I just tied a 2 string overhand loop (term?) on the end, and left the loop out when I started the celtic bar section (for a keyring). Finished like the video showed, then another basic 2 string overhand that lead into the necklace part of the lanyard, which I attached using a safety release buckle (rather than melt together, OSHA codes at work).
you must be very young. A Justin Bieber fan?The music is an outstanding guitar lic . As you get older ur music appreciation mite grow. Let's hope for ur sake
I used this technique to create my handfasting ties for my wedding next month. They look incredible! Thanks for the tutorial 😁
How did you make a long one?
@@sierradreame814 I measured out a lot of paracord for each one. I can't remember the measurements I used for it, but the cords were long enough to tie mine and my husbands hands for the ceremony.
I'm currently doing this for my best friend's wedding! Hoping she loves it.
Wow! I could watch you tie all day!
Thank you for generously sharing your knowledge.
Great video. Easy to follow. I happen to like the background music. Thanks for posting.
One of the best videos for teaching I have ever seen, period! Very clear, great camera angle and light.
Excellent tutorial. Thank you for putting in the time and effort

JD this is awesome!! just what I am looking for, for several of my projects I have in mind!! thanks again JD!!
Thanks for making this video, you made it really easy to follow along, I got it on my first try!
Great video! Thanks for all of your efforts to post these amazing videos, I love this weave

You can select your finished length at the beginning allowing some extra for the length you loose in the weave.
No idea what caused this video to be flagged JD. Thanks for reposting it.

thanks for the guide, this will prove very useful for the outfit I'm making.
I appreciate you stopping during the video so progress can be checked.
Thank you for this. explained it so clearly, and easy to follow :)
What's the formula for inches to feet with this knot? If for instance one wanted to make a belt or sling?
I just asked the same thing about my neck knife necklace and I’m going to start with a long piece of paracord to ensure I have enough.
I have it now, however long you want it to be is how long the two bights are in the beginning. They will determine how long it will be.
Thank you JD, another awesome video to give me ideas :)
Beauty! And so helpful, easy to see and understand. Many thanks!
This is cool, it'd even be cooler with two colors fused together at the middle.
Your friend reminds me too Vini Reilly! :) btw, excellent tutorial, thanks for sharing!
thanks...now there are fancy means of making a necklace when making my beaded jewelry!
Very nice !
I would like know the length (about) for 1 centimeter to imagine how long I need to have for my project...
Thanks a lot .
looks like you need at least six times the length of your finished product--so I would go for seven times the length and that should work out fine.
this is really awesome! it looks just like a sailor knot, but so much easier so thank you! the onlu think is how would i be able to make that into a bracelet, tie it shut?
muy claras las explicaciones y muy lindos los nudos, gran generosidad, gracias por compartir!!!

I am going to try this one :)
Thank you
That was so helpful thank you
What know do you suggest to make a small Celtic mat from jute rope?
So if I planned to make a necklace for my knife I would have to use 12’ of paracord and fold those first two bights larger?
Excellent tutorial thank you so very much
Awesome channel!

what?! Fingers is covering EVERYTHING! That's impossible to finish it.
thank you so much..beautiful and practical...
I was shocked of how easy this was
Can the Celtic bar be seven together to make a small mat?
what measure does your ribbon's cross section have?
Nice music! It reminds me of a skinny English guy who used to be on Factory Records (I think) years ago... Can't think of his name though..?
is there a way to make this into a bracelet with snap buckle. i have the material and would like to try but cant figure out how to attach the buckle. any help?
How long is the cord you used? 5 feet?
Great job thank you 👏👏👍👍
Excellent instruction. I'm going to try with leather cord. (Music distracting for me. Sorry, but think it was recorded at too high a volume and is distorting. Could easily fix I think.:D)
as there are no spoken instructions i suggest lowering or even turning off the sound

I wonder how I could modify the ends to attach it to a guitar as a strap.

survival bracelets arent for immediate emergencies, but for handy dandy ropes should you need it to tie something.

Great I was wondering how this could become a wrist band??
In most of this guys how to videos he uses paracord or parachute cord it is a nylon or polyester cord either normally 6 or 4 mm
cool ends up working like a 4 strand braid
Hello. How long should a piece of cord be for a wrist band? Any suggestions? Thanks.
The lighting's makes the video a little difficult to follow around @1:35.
However, once that's passed, it's a fabulous video.
How can I make this with multiple colours ? Thanks
I want to make it red gold and black for my house colours
it's perfect:)! but, only one thing: What kind of rope do you use for do that???? I don't find nothing like this and I can't do it with a normal rope. please write me soon:)
If I may ask how much the strap/belt shrinks once braided. Thanks :)
fantastic thank you
Merci monsieur pour votre vidéo j'adore
So basically the length of the loop is the length of the cord?
wow..it actually looks like braiding a 4 strand hair braid :'D
What kind of twine or cord are you using in this video? By the way your friend David is AWESOME!!
can anyone thats tied the celtic before tell me how to get the loops even 10 times i've tried and everytime one side is longer than the other so can't get the finish right
Hi, What is the music ?
Can I use a shoelace for thia
Looks complicated but cool!
Eloise Yallop it's actually quite simple once you get the hang of it.
the trick is to just keep at it till you get it right
How does this do as a belt? Does it get stretched out?
Hi, can this be done using a thinner cord?
Anyone know what kind of twine or cord this is?
