    Lucky you. Mine pro 1 broke after 5 runs. No one longer than 20km (13 miles). And I am not a heavy runner and definitely no heel striker.

    I am not as fas as Mizuno marketing indicated. I am not even as fast as you, but I did enjoy running in WRP2 for a few miles during Mizuno demo. I think it is more democratic shoe than they imagined it to be. I also appreciated that they kept the price $250 vs VF3 has crept up $10-20 this year (depending on colorway). I think it is a better value than Cielo X1 out of shoes that are released in 2024 so far.

      I agree it's for more people than they imagined but, at least for me, I don't think I'd enjoy it with the fatigue that comes at the end of the marathon.

    The Mizuno line usually goes on big sales in Europe so it's definitely on my list. I am worried about not being able to heel lock.. Puma know how to do it even on a bootie upper like in the Puma Fast R Nitro Elite. Why Nike in the Alphafly don't have it?

    • @its_Matt_B_
      @its_Matt_B_  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I don’t know why some brands/models leave off the heel-lock-eyelet. It seems an easy addition that would open the shoes up to more people.

    I use the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro V1 for easy long runs.. Feels amazing.. Bouncing along.. I am absolutely not who it was made for.. No heel striker with no heel.. Only going down stairs and walking to where I start the run is so strange.. For a race I think Nike is king.

    • @its_Matt_B_
      @its_Matt_B_  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Glad they work well for you on your easy long runs.
      “King” is a strong word….I’m not sure what I think about that. At least I’m uncomfortable admitting it if it’s true.

      I use mine for LR's too. I have two pairs of the v1 and they are my current favoured LR shoe but my LR's usually involve steady running with some goal paced work or even down to HMP work thrown in. I have always thought that I wouldn't ideally like to risk going the full Marathon distance in them though and about 20+ miles is their limit for me.
      Endorphin Elite remain my favoured race day shoe for the coming year but I am looking at this year's releases with a view to hopefully picking up some bargains for autumn 2025 if they ruin the Elite v2 or I decide that it is out of my price range when I need some new race shoes.

      @@MarkSmith_Best-Athletics I find the Vaporfly V2 best for long races but they just die at around the 100 miles mark.. Run today a threshold run in the Vaporfly V2.. The midsole went from tarpaulin to pitta bread feel.. Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro V1 just stay consistent during long runs.

      @@MarkSmith_Best-Athletics You motivate me to at least want to do better long runs. I hardly ever do any part of my long runs at marathon pace and certainly never at HM pace.
      It would be nice if the Endo Elite 2 came out and was rubbish, and the price of V1 became really affordable. (This fantasy of the V2 being rubbish is strictly so we don’t want it enough to ignore the good deal of V1.)

    So good! I got ASICS Gel Nimbus 26, and my ankle fatigue was so much. I guess I wasn't running fast enough in them. I am back to my HOKA proflys. They feel better

    • @its_Matt_B_
      @its_Matt_B_  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The GN26 is going to be quite a bit heavier than your Hoka shoes, which is fine and there is a place for running in a heavier shoe, but perhaps shorter distances. It's no fun getting back from a run with ankle fatigue! I don't mind normal fatigue so much, much ankle fatigue feels too close to an injury!

    • @TolunayOrkun
      @TolunayOrkun 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I tried both but WRP2 felt better on foot. WRF2 didn't have the same bouncy feel. I am also far off from 2:30 and despite Mizuno marketing I would say WRP2 is for me even though I might never run that fast. It does still give some performance advantage for people like me. It is strange that marketing is limiting the sales of the shoe with such statements. Nike will be happy to sell their shoes to whomever.

    So Mizuno has made those shoes for sub 2:30 Marathon runners ....?
    If I walk into a running shoe shop and want to buy a pair of these will the shop owner ask me if I am able to run sub 2:30 and if not he will not sell these shoes to me?
    I'd say that doesn't bother me much as other brands will sell me any shoe I want to have.
    Lets see if Mizuno will have success with this arrogant sale behaviour.
