I just stumbled upon your video because I am growing sunflowers the two are okay but the other one seems to be brownish in color (not healthy) the stem seems like it's dying and I probably need to loosen up the soil...like you have said because its not getting proper water to the roots, I believe that's what is happening here. So hopefully I can get out there tomorrow and take care of my plant cuz all the other ones are doing very well except for that one
I would try soaking the base of the brown one with water hopefully that will help your sunflower .
Watching from Florida! I moved a sunflower to a bigger pot but it’s starting to look wilted the day after. Cute kitty and doggy!

Norfolk, VA- zone 8a. I got a Canna Lilly from Walmart for 5 bucks because it was dying. Of course Walmart doesn't take good care of plants as it is, but it was also near the end of selling season and this was a lilly that never sold. I had to cut so many leaves off! I kept the healthy ones, but there weren't very many. Then I cut off the bottom third of her roots and put her in a bigger pot because she was completely root bound- gave her lots of water and hoped for the best. About a month later, I had to buy a big tote and drill holes in the bottom for drainage for her because she grew so huge so fast! I just divided her the other day and put her into our front garden bed. She's already growing new leaves after being divided! I got 4 good Cannas out of her! I used to think it looked so brutal to cut so much of a plant away, but now I've seen how much it benefits them. Plants are so cool!
My parents where on vacation thanks needed this. I put some fertilizer on it

What about watering when it’s cooler out especially evening.
