Hi Evan. I am a huge Avatar fan since the first movie. An open world game from this universe is a dream come true for us fans. It was a very long wait, and maybe it’s not the best game out there, but it was certainly my best gaming experience ever. I love Pandora and the Na'vi and this game finally gave me a chance to kick RDA ass 😅 I cried like a little baby at the end. (took me 130h) Thank you and thanks to everyone who made this game possible. 🤗

Respect for Tylan! I am like 80 hours through the game and in the 3rd zone so I feel so bad for him and can't wait to see how the story ends. Love to hear people's perspectives who are in the industry.
80 hours in?! I love that. I'm so glad you're enjoying the game. Teylan definitely has a tough go throughout this one but he was an absolute joy to work on as a character. Really conflicted
@@EvanJStern I chose the first voice (the "older sister", as you called it) and my Sarentu has short tomboy haircut and rocking Resistance gear while maining longbow, heavy bow, shotgun, and spear thrower.
But yeah, I had a feeling Teylan was secretly communicating with the RDA, but it was a real gut punch when he reveals he specifically communicated with Mercer. Poor kid, definitely abused mentally and physically and doesn't know any other "safety" besides Mercer's control. It's so relatable.
I'm like an avatar super fan since my childhood, I enjoyed the game so much, I have like 130 played hours and it was such and amazing meditative experience for me, I kept noticing so many canon details, incredibly satisfying. Many times I played like with mouth wide open thanks to the breathtaking views. And Teylan was like my favorite character from the game, together with Ri'nela, and I'm so so glad I found you doing the letsplay and sharing so many behind the scenes stuff from the production that I was so curious to know. Seeing the characters move I was like, is this entire performance mocap or they just did the face expressions? Because they move so natural, just like in the film. 😱 This is so great, I had no idea they created the characters actually basing them on your appearances guys. This was so much fun to watch, now I want to see a whole game played by Teylan himself. 😂 It's always great to see people who are fans of their own work. 😍
[GAME STORY SPOILER AHEAD] Since the beginning scene I was like oh no, this boy Teylan likes humans too much, this is not gonna end up well. 😂😂 And when the story progressed more I was like Teylan don't you dare to die, no no no.. Well, Teylan really made the storyline unpredictable until the last moment, it was so tense but I was so happy with it overall, I also cried with the ending. And when I was done with the game I was like, awnn, these guys are like my besties. 🥹😂
Anyway, you made an amazing job portraying him, very natural, and so did your colleagues. So glad that I found your channel to see this.

There are only two canon games as of now, Frontiers of Pandora and Reckoning (which comes out in 2024). Pandora Rising is only canon in the sense that all the characters, animals and technology in it are canon, but the game was cancelled.

How do you both act so much like Teylan in this playthrough while also,,,,,not? You embody the character very well and while Teylan did upset me in the beginning of the game as I began to see more of what the RDA did to the Sarentu children I started to understand him and his trauma response to the situation that they were all put in. (Have you seen the theory that Teylan was likely only a year old when he was taken from The Sarentu Moot with the other kids? Honestly it's such a sad one)
we don't know exactly how young teylan was when the kids were abducted but we do know that he's the youngest, and has no memories of life outside TAP until they escape
Amazing Game, Love playing, even though I got it the DAY it released I have not progressed far cause I have been exploring and unlocking things lol...the ONLY thing that bothers me with the animation with the Na'vi is that their ears don't move. Would have been nice just for a little extra emotion, still an AMAZINGLY beautiful game
Hey, kind of a weird question, but is Teylan unable to stand straight?? Is his back curved or does he just stand like that? My sister and I have been wondering that ever since we watched the first walk through
No, it's a great question! I think what you're seeing is the cautiousness/fear. Teylan is often on edge and afraid of being punished so his posture is one of shying away. I only stood truly upright a few times throughout the game and those were in moments where Teylan's particularly proud

Absolutely. I can't wait to get back in the booth. For this is what was both mocap and voice acting but voice acting is so lux. I can come to work in my pjs! I mean, I shouldn't. But I could!
