Izzy lost to Jan, and Rob carried on fighting other MW contenders while waiting for his rematch with Izzy, he had been the clear consensus #1 contender before the Christmas/New Year/New Baby time off, and that didn't change until we finally got the Izzy/Rob rematch we'd waited 5000 years for (yes that was for dramatic effect), and tbf he was still the consensus #1 until Dricus stopped him earlier this year.
