Solid play by Ven going toe-to-toe with Void and almost pulling it out. It was already a tough matchup for Zelda, but taking him to the brink with some smart play was admirable to watch. It gives me some hope for the Zelda meta overall that she can be competitive against these characters with smart play. We'll have to see how it develops going forward.
@@asshunnngami Yup you know it! Although I'm new to maining her. I recently started playing her two months ago in Brawl, Smash 4, and Project M. I really wanted to use her in Ultimate. Her redesign was really cool, plus pre-release gameplay of her looked so fun. I thought it would be cool to rep a character who's long been terrible in the series as well. I was worried it was all just hype. This was especially because Zelda has a play style I'm not comfortable with. I'm accustomed to using fast characters who can get in and pummel opponents with quick combos, such as Sonic, Pikachu, and Zero Suit Samus. However, the eye test turned out to be right (with some training in other Smash games to see what I was getting into with Zelda). She is SO MUCH FUN to use in this game. Her style took some getting used to, but it feels great now! She is a solid main for me.
Honestly same. I love Zelda and I want so much for her to see more tournament play. I love seeing her go up against this matchup both character and player and nearly win. Lots of hope.
REALLY cool to see Zelda, a low-mid tier, be able to keep up so well with what is possibly the best character in the game. And both played but really good players.
I haven't really seen any other top level zeldas yet, is Ven possibly the best? If there's someone else killing it mention them so I can do some *research*
Ven is and was hands down the best Zelda player during Smash 4, so he's probably then to be watching at current. His accuracy is on point. He rarely SD's.
I sure hope Zelda (both Zeldas) gets a buff in the spring update, especially to her side aerials' hit boxes. They can be a little inconsistent sometimes. Edit: yeah I'm pretty sure they already buffed it from Sm4sh, but it won't get a sweet spot if you're too close to the enemy
He was but Ven began to pressure him through his anti ledge trapping set ups while off stage helping him close game 3. A more intelligent thing about it is void waited until the third game to pull this off...these mf pros
@@MrCalexv12 Not sure how it is from 4 since i didn't play that much, but I know it has been her best move since forever because of the invulnerability and how good it is as a get off me tool. It is just a damn good move to keep the opponent away.
No, it’s the same as in smash 4, but buffed. Since you can only use one airdodge it makes the move very good for edgeguarding. It’s just an underrated move
imo zelda side b is a little too slow to be that effective against pichu with how fast he is and that quick attack recovery so maybe thats why he didnt use it that much
JP Keeks yep. Not the best move to throw out against Pichu unless you’re really good at reading recoveries. Maybe to catch a landing from far away but Pichu’s just too nimble
Yoooo this Zelda was nice

Are you a Zelda main too?

Sorry but Zelda breaks pichu in half. Ven just didn't play the mu right.
@@spuhgetti Ven is the best competing Zelda player currently.. So what credentials do you have to claim he played it wrong?
Honestly same. I love Zelda and I want so much for her to see more tournament play. I love seeing her go up against this matchup both character and player and nearly win. Lots of hope.
Zelda is slept on she has so many good mechanics
Ven was overlooked in smash 4, he was a fantastic Zelda there too

brandon it might take a few years!
I watched Jayce and Saladin play zelda, idk if theyre good tho

One that stood out to me was MaXy. There's only one on youtube right now but I think he's the best.

This Zelda was really nice. I felt like Ven could've really been able to take on Void

Lmao the clap at 5:32 Ven is such a cutie
Ven got sloppy during that last game. He kept trying to put out a Knight when he was recovering. Void saw that and kept punishing.
I want some Zelda v Zelda stand battles.
Can you activate Zelda's knight whenever you want?
Yeah. If u input again itll fire off otherwise itll fully build. The more its built the further it travels and more knockback it has tho
Nice that changes something, I didn't knew and thought it was trash
Alejandro Carvajal i been trying to main zelda, it is probably her best tool aside from neutral b
Has her neutral B been buffed?

I noticed Ven was rarely using side B. Is it not as good in this game?

I love watching Ven
Pichu on its 2 last stocks at the last match was the best!
That spike
Zen played great but for some reason did a ton of gimmicks to throw away game 1. He had a huge lead...
Nooo not my two mains since melee fighting each other :(
if u have ultimate, wanna play together?
Dang, aggression is way too good in this game. Void literally just stopped playing defensively and steamrolled.
I've never seen ven use neutral b so much, it pretty much cost him the game though
Esam
Why would someone use Pichu in a tournament...I just dont get it sorry. Pikachu is the same minus the self damage...
Pichu's thunder comes down way quicker and is a good kill option
Do you even play this game?
Watch Zero's video on Pichu to get a run down on their differences because there are big differences between them.
Pichu hits harder and is also harder to hit himself.
