Hi, Crystal! I am teaching myself to crochet again, after I lost 50% of my vision following a hemorrhagic stroke(brain aneurysm). It seems vision is not my only challenge. Short term memory seems to be an issue too. I have decided to go back to the patterns and tutorials of yours that are my favorite. I seem to get it fairly quickly, and I know it will be nice once finished. Thank you for such step by step instructions and repeating things enough times for me to get the sequence of stitches. Some patterns are “easier” than others. I have to watch over, and over, and over. Some I just can’t seem to get, even making notes. Ponchos appear best for me. Probably because I had made so many before my stroke. Love the way this turns out. Thank you, Crystal! Much love to you! 💖

I have made 5 of these so far. The “cakes”now come in cotton and they are really nice. I just dont like that pucker in front so I wear it off to the side. I love this poncho.thx for the tutorial. I. Must have viewed it 100 times.
I will add a suggestion. Only bc I’ve had to rip out rows many times.
I put a stitch marker where the points are so I don’t mess up there. It has helped me a lot.
I just move it up as I continue rows. Every 3 rows or so.
On my first ones I could have made 3 ponchos for all the rows I had to rip!!
Also I happen to like the neck without the extra single crochet row. I am making the chain 80 tighter now so I don’t have to finish it off with a row of sc. it is not as stiff of a neckline.
I’m doing 27 rows with a 5 1/2 inch fringe.that way the poncho sits at my wrists and the fringe breaks at the wrist, and it is longer and comes down to the knees.a nice look.
