No. To practice allopathy and Ayurveda, in karnataka only integrated doctors are allowed. These integrated doctors legally studied in both systems of medicine from university and registered separately and with two different medical council nos. These are legally coming under drug controller certification and registered in KPME act. Only 2000 doctors are there.. This was there 40 years back. Present BAMS doctors should practice only Ayurveda.

learning and reading books on modern medicine ( allopathy ) is different from being qualified in modern medicine ( allopathy ) and getting registered with your State medical council. BAMS is not a back door entry to practise modern medicine ( allopathy ) , if caught during a raid by medical team then you may even face serious consequences of quackery , even the Ayurved medical council does not have a say in this matter. If you work in Modern medicine hospital , make sure that the consultant and hospital give your cover . Respect is there who practise pure Ayurved practise.
