Hey Kaitlyn! FYI, ducks LOVE slugs, and so do moles, and when we had our little homestead in Washington, when we had a little flock of ducks😉😉😉😉👍👍 around, they ate so many slugs that the moles vacated our acreage. They went over to the neighbors' properties and left our lawn alone. They got starved out, lols. Thought you might like to know👍😉 Happy for you, a hose and an outdoor space are must haves!!
I like your videos. They are very cool. And you always try to be positive, despite the fact that some plants may get sick or wither. But a great fellow, do not let go of your hands and struggle with the problem of a shower against a spider mite.))❤️🧡
Slugs will go for anything! Plants, cat litter, dog poop, ANYTHING!!! I don't know how they sense it, but man they are fast and persistent!!! We used to have a large clay pot for strawberries on our deck and we had to use copper foil all around it, and put a saucer of egg shells mixed with salt underneath it to stop them!
Are you planning on having an outdoor garden because you have the opportunity!!? If you have slugs I suggest getting one of those tower gardens!! And sprinkling salt around it! I love gardening outside, we are finally getting over our winter!! So glad to see a new video from you and I'm sorry about your spider mites ❤️
You need to get yourself a pressurised sprayer with a long wand so you can stand way back and let that gadget do all the work for you. Congrats on the hose! And the new beautiful house ❤
this plant is like, ah, this is the outside.. feels so good.. patios in the shade are nice.. come out here plant buddies.. i feel better already.. im never leaving this shaded patio.. is this heaven, or is it ohio?
I am a fan of LECA! The most import thing you have to consider, is any dirt/dead organic material left at the roots. Sometimes it will rot over time and you'll get root rot. An consider to rinse the whole substrat from time to time (few months) so that there is no build up of minerals or fertilizer (which can also rot the roots). But other than that, it is easy to handle and with the right equipment, you can see exactly how many water your plant has left. I never managed to overwater any of my plants in LECA! :) Btw I really missed your videos!!! ❤
I finally found variegated ficus triangularis from big box store!! Only one stem for 8$😂 but it was my first time seeing it in person so i bit the bullet and bought it!!!!!! So excited!!!!
Ha! Now you can put some of your plants on your patio in the summer. I notice snake plants love warm summers. Or even your cactus or succulents. I'm so happy for you! Buying a house is so exciting, and the little things, like buying a hose, just adds to the experience.
Hi😊 I was wondering if you could make a video about plants that need a lot of water or that don’t mind being watered a lot? They are honestly the ones that I would find to be easier, because I would not struggle with over-watering so much.☺️
I'm a beginner houseplant "enthusiast" and your videos always bring me so much joy and knowledge. The way you're showing not only your most succesful plants but also your mistakes and being positive about it makes me less sad for my mistakes ☺️ tysm, wish you the best 💜💜
Phineas is so adorable!! Pup smooches from Zoey and Oreo!! It’s nice to see how your plants are doing - I’ve been using Liquid Dirt and Vitamins (I’m blanking on the name but Harly G recommends it). Thanks for sharing! 💜💚🪴🌵
I always enjoy being here for you while you do your planty chores! I love love love leca and have found lots of my plants enjoy it. I've seen EVERYWHERE else sells leca for WAY too much. If you have an IKEA around they have couple lbs bags for only about 6-10$. Can't wait to hear how it works out for ya! 💚
I really enjoyed the video and im happy you dont have to deal with the stress of a house under construction! Its so fun that you’re using leca! Of youre curious about using it more i highly recommend watching The Leca Queen on youtube! Her channel is what inspired me to try leca. She does recommend soaking the leca before using it for potting material, so i hope your chances don’t suffer from that, but she also recommends having your plants in water for awhile before transferring to allow the “soil” roots to die off and allow “water” roots to form, so you already have a head start for that! If you don’t want to use fancy leca fertilizers you can also try using normal liquid plant fertilizers at half of their recommended amount. Good luck with your plant adventures!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hey Kaitlyn , seeing your New home for the first time . Despite the whole desaster, i am so super happy for you .❤😊 Everything looks so big and clean ( plants soon adjusting to the new situation ). Love to see you having so much more space for projects and outdoor space for doing so much more stuff. A New chapter in your life 😊. Hug 👋😀 Matt from the misty/ rainy Black Forest .
The back patio looks great! As a former lawn haver myself, I’d encourage you to peel some of the grass back from it by like 12” or so, and add some edging to make the future battle a little more efficient. Much easier to clean up a straight line rather then in between the pavers and river stones. Happy for you that your home repairs are complete and you can finally get settled into your new home! 😊
Good too see you an that your getting your house fixed. You can pour table salt in the rock around your patio stones too kill the slugs. I’m surprised you took your plants out with frost on the ground, burrr🥶 Hope you do an update on the Maximum, I haven’t given in to the Leca or Pon but it’s looking better all the time. Happy Easter/ Resurrection Day/ Holiday! 🌅💚
😂😂😂 I'm so excited for you and your new hose! I lived in apartments before where I live now and one of my first order of business was to get a hose and a spray attachment (we didnt have those when I was growing up) Also congrats on your first leca plant 🎉 I also recently started experimenting with DIY Pon. Was terrified but a couple of plants that keep rotting in soil in my care and doing ok in Pon 👏🏾
Yeah, i did a ton of research and chose my plant carefully because i have north facing windows and VERY low humidity. I invested in a cast iron plant. Ive had it since April. It has spider mites and its my first time. Ive only been a plant person for a year. I am not thrilled.
Enjoyed the video….Your P. Gigantium looks just about identical to mine in height and stature and it stays under bright growlights and outside during the summer months. I’m not so sure it’s a lighting issue. I’m going to load mine up this growing season with lots of organic fertilizer🪴💚🌿
Thank you!!🥰 I’m so inexperienced using leca that I’m actually not sure of the extent of its limitations 🤔 I bet some plants have very fragile root systems that may pose a problem being transferred, or plants with thick root systems might find it confining because it doesn’t really compress or expand to accommodate for thick growth…but i’m just guessing here. thanks for asking, it’s fun to think about. I hope to learn more about the leca and share as i go! The grafted plant is still in its pot and looking exactly the same tbh haha 😊💜
welcome to the leca world. for fertilizers, i use growth technology foliage focus (which is simple to mix & works great) which is finally being distributed to the us. unplantparenthood is testing tps and there is always general hydroponic which tbh seems tedious to me. glad your place is all fixed up.
I experimented with pon and leca, I seem to have way more success with pon! Or it just feels like it anyway. I bought a huge bag of pon and a very small bag of leca, so I’ve been using the pon way more lol. But something like the maximum with hardy roots will probably do great. Can’t forget the fertilizer tho!
You teach me so much ❤️ I love watching your channel 💕. I've been binge watching your videos off and on. It must be so fun to work in a plant ☘️🌵 shop. Especially since you love 💓 plants (*_*)
Hi Katelyn! I have a questionar for you, I Just recently found tha my monstera mínima has two variegated leaves, I bought this plant as a normal one and have had it for a year. Its the first time I've seen this happenning is it normal?
Does anyone have any advice for leca? I’ve put a fittonia and an adasonii in leca and both of the plants’ roots rotted (managed to get the adasonii out before it all died). What am I doing wrong? They grow perfectly fine in water, so why not leca?
Dieffenbachia plants what is the right soil mixture to use to propagate. New to your channel by the way I wish I would’ve found you before losing a lot of plants. Please help and Thank You
I always love watching your videos they are so relax8ng and make my day. ✨STORY TIME ✨ so we got cats one is name Loki and one is named Boo and I had a bunch if plants on my windowcill and that was fine but Loki living up to his name l8kes to hop onto my windowcill with my 0lants and has knocked 4 over so then I had to move them to the conserve try which cycles through all 4 seasons in one day and after that my three snake plants were left in the same position as they were dumped 8nti the pot my avocado seed was asking knocked of but stayed in thankfully but all my plants were sitting in my conserve try with no water and cus they weren't 8n my room I felt very unmotivated to do anything so when I came back to my snake plant the spoil was dry like the feast and a lot of riots had died so I added some more soil to that one and the avocado then I had to water them so u took them in the kitchen bottom watered but m8d way through my dad told me to put them in conserve try so I did that and then forgot about them and some of them sat in water for like 4 days straight also I though Loki ate my Chinese money plant but when I thought it was dead u chucked it out and saw some green so I investigated and there it was turned out he had buried it and bitten the leaf but it's now ok I hope. Love the vids keep it up ❤❤❤❤

You should a garden sprayer for your neem oil treatment
That root pruning segment with inspirational life lessons is just everything I love about your channel. Thank you for this!!

This is silly but I appreciate that you use an old gallon water jug for fertilizer like I do 😁
I'm happy your palm came back for you, I remember you said if it didn't come back you would toss it
And
Eeeeeew, I hate slugs😂

Thanks for posting - you were missed! I'm sure the plants were happier. You made me smile when you said, "You're welcome, tree!" Take care!
Oooh I have a tip! Those flexible hoses don't last long, when it passes away definitely go for an anti-kink hose. They last pretty much forever!! 💚💚💚
Your patio is sooooo cute! Congratulations on your new place and your first big indoor job 🤗🤗🤗
With ur dream hose, keep it in a sealed box-mice LOVE them…I’ve lost 2…all nibbled up.

Unrelated to plants but can you show us how you do your ombré nails?! I love looking at them in your videos lol

Missed ya!
Excellent fun! I love how open your house is, the plants will fill in so beautifully. What a lovely home.
love the hose action montage 😂 do you plan on putting some plants outside this summer?

Yay!!!! Missed your videos! Another great one. Love the new house!
Congratulations on everything being fixed and your new hose! Lol I bet with all the windows your plants will take off soon!
“H0se n00b” that was really cute! 😂
Back in the 1950s, when LECA became popular, BASF made a DEFY ion exchange resin fertilizer. It is called Lewatit HD 50 nowadays.
Always love to see a new video from you ❤
Does anyone have tips regarding Thrips?
I used captain jacks dead bug brew and then alternate that with thorough cleaning and neem oil for a couple weeks in a row.
Yeah, i did a ton of research and chose my plant carefully because i have north facing windows and VERY low humidity. I invested in a cast iron plant. Ive had it since April. It has spider mites and its my first time. Ive only been a plant person for a year. I am not thrilled.

Thank you!!🥰

🎶 No, I don’t want no slugs. A slug is a worm that can’t get no love from me 🎶

I know she's a plant lady gem 💎❤😅
Great to see that you are back! A question, are you going to propagate your ficus triangularis to increase the fullness?
💚
Slugs and worms climb to stop themselves from drowning.
So I buy all my Leca at ikea!!! And it’s only like 6 bucks a bag!!!
Me too--love the IKEA lecca.
🍀🌿💚
Hi kaitlyn
You had to PRE SOAK the leca BEFORE you used them

Beer for slugs
That is the most bizarre back porch deck I. Have ever seen and I am 50.Will the plants recover from spider mites?
Love the plants and the house is wonderful with all the natural light.
Ugh! Been oil stinks!🤢
