I am surprised most people I see do this part use Dagger for this dungeon, as I find Vivi to be the better item user for this particular situation (Also having Bio at this point before entering helps with the fights in the event Zidane's ATB isn't first). Plus having Dagger for Healing or using Berserk on the melee you leave behind can be worth the investment if you trust your DPS.
This was a fun strat though! Amarant Healer is pretty uncommon and glad to see in play! I find he gets slept on too hard because he provides a lot of flex to a party comp (Support and heavy DPS with his normals and Throw Skills... Also having access to both counter abilities). I keep forgetting you have 100% steal on because I am imagining you resetting if you didn't get a perfect 3 steal before doing a take, haha! Good job!

In a normal situation, I would always have Freya here instead of Dagger, but this is anything but normal! As I mentioned in the description, Chemist and Auto-Potion makes her invincible here, giving me one less thing to worry about should everyone get Confusion. Honestly I've never thought about using Berserk on allies much in this game, it never seems worth it, but that's definitly an idea to try out sometime! Her Berserk is actually very useful on enemies before getting to Oeilvert, stops you getting mogged by Petrification on your way here.
You're going to be seeing a lot more Amarant! I had a secret "restriction" of trying to use characters as evenly as possible, so you're going to get to see him do some fun stuff. I did want to find another strategy that used Healer on him, but I couldn't quite get one that was as good as just clicking Cura. That makes this fight extra special though, haha!
God, could you imagine having to RNG 3 perfect Steals? No thank you!

While I agree it's smart to pair Chemist + Auto Potion (If you wanted, Eiko can also fulfill the role, though I find her way more useful in the next dungeon), I believe Vivi can lead to a slightly faster fight (as long as you ration your Hi-Potions or Elixirs correctly). Though not using Auto-Haste, does make this strategy a lil more difficult with turn queue, haha. At the very least, you can play around it theoretically by having Vivi on standby and maniping the turn order since you use ATB Wait. :P
I can't wait for that! Him and Quina I feel get shafted too much (One for the Blue Magic and the other for showing up later in the game when people are getting comfy with their team once Disc 3 happens).
Berserk is a fantastic tool imo since the extra attack boost with MP Attack and Bird Killer shreds Valia Pira's HP (If you are planning on the melee just attacking, why not give them a, "Boost"?)

@@TailsGt1 Eiko doesn't get Chemist! You are right with her being more useful in Desert Palace, though. She's actually 100% required for the ridiculous fight I cooked up with Valia Pari lol. Vivi in this run against Ark would be seriously hampered with no access to Clear Headed, plus I needed him for Valia Pira...even though that didn't end up going according exactly to plan, he was much more useful there!
Honestly, Quina and Amarant were invaluable for this run. Beatrix 1 and 2 would not have been possible without Mighty Guard, as would cartain other bosses. There are a lot of bosses weak to wind as the game goes on, giving Amarant a great advantage with his Kaiser Knuckles. Chakra also directly lets me achieve No Items in some fights, too!

You're right! I must have had Freya on the mind (I usually bring her for this fight despite not getting access to Holy Lance right away). :P
I do need to ask... are we ignoring any bloodstones for the next fight? Because that might be... problematic if they were, haha.
There's a reason I really adore this game because the way gear is handled feels like a massive knowledge check. Most of it has a place for a strat you wanna do.
Also, people, I beg of you... Use Mighty Guard. It's amazing.

@@TailsGt1 Yeah! Characters have no defensive stats, everything comes form your gear, so knowing what to use and where is actually super important!
Ha...haha...ignoring bloodstones? What kind of buffoon would do that!? Ha...ha ha ha...hah...
