DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender:

Voltron: Defender of the Universe is an American animated television series that features a team of astronauts who pilot a giant Super Robot known as "Voltron". The first season of Voltron, featuring the "Lion Force Voltron", was adapted from the Japanese anime television series Beast King GoLion. The second season, featuring the "Vehicle Team Voltron", was adapted from the unrelated anime series Armored Fleet Dairugger XV.

I’m 62 years old and i remember watching both Voltrons and i still love watching cartoons.
I'm 63 and still love this show. This version (15 vehicles) is my favorite.
You never do grow out of watching cartoons. 🙂

I liked the way they linked both Voltrons storyline wise, they even did a special were both team up, against Lotor's robeast...
I totally respect that, but I am the opposite. I saw these cartoons separately before they became Voltron in US. Didn't like that fact that they were merged.
I think it would have been great to merged all three. Voltron 1, 2 and 3 with a final battle against their enemies combined forces. Alas it did not happen.@@Recoverel
Commander Hawkins is voiced by Peter Cullen, AKA Optimus Prime. Heck, I almost expected him to say "Autobots! Transform, and roll out!"

It was approximately 1990-1991, I still went to kindergarten. A little later they began to show transformers. When I came home from kindergarten, I watched Chip and Dale and duck stories. How incredible it was back then.😌😌🙂
Voltron is only voltron with the lions. It's not the same with the vehicles.

I love 80's Voltron but it was literally a Japanese import that they re-edited and dubbed over. Not very imaginative.

They’ve been talking about it for years and if they do it, you know it will be the Lions. My last understanding about a live action Voltron film has to do with acquiring the rights from World Events Media ( the company that produced Voltron).
The vehicle Voltron with the Explorer would be to expensive. Now if they did the Lions first and if a Lion Voltron smashes the box office, then maybe a Vehicle Voltron could be produced.
I kind of not want to do it because it will be compared to Power Rangers and even Transformers and if it flops people will say “Ooh they tried rolling out that bootleg MegaZord or Transformers combiner. They should have done it before the Power Rangers and Transformers movies. They should have released it 30 to 35 years ago.

consider this, we were 12-ish and what else out there was there to compare it to? although to be fair, somewhere around 85--86 i was exposed to japanese manga for the first time and turned my back on regular cookie cutter cartoons and comic books shortly after.

As a kid id get angry when they showed the vehicle voltron instead of the lions. As an adult i like the vehicle voltron cartoon better

My favorite Voltron from my childhood. I think I was about 6 or 7 (‘83, ‘84) when I first watched it. And I did what I could with my Lego pieces to mimic the concept. Oh the memories.
And action cartoons weren’t afraid to sport a good ol’ Cross on the heroes back then. ✝️

Ahh the fauxtron cartoon. Go lion is the true og. There was already too many vehicle combine robots but no real animal ones. Voltron changed that.
