Hi, I'm Brandon Moon, and tonight we're crafting a unique pattern: the Adams Comparadun Variant. 🐟 We're blending two classic flies, the Adams and the Comparadun, but with a twist-using hog wing instead of elk or deer hair for the wing. 🎨
Materials:
. Hook Moonlit Premium TML 102, Size 14 (tie as small as 20 or as large as 10)
. Thread: S-Fly Classic Wax 12/0 in Adams color
. Wing: Hog Wing in Teton
. Tail: Sear Fly Tailing Fibers in Fiery Brown
. Body: Magpie Wild Bar Turkey Biot in Gray Drake
. Thorax: Moonlit Natural Beaver Dubbing
Steps:
. Lay thread base, add super glue, and attach hog wing.
. Tie in tail fibers and secure them.
. Attach turkey biot and wrap for a smooth body.
. Create thorax with beaver dubbing.
. Secure everything with a whip finish and super glue.
Trim and shape the wing, ensuring it’s stiff for better floatation. 🌊 Enjoy tying and fishing this versatile fly! 🎣
