As far as I understood this Boy and Girl saw that Boyfriend was mad about something and was going to have trouble sleeping, so this entire thing was essentially them trying to get him to cheer up and tire himself out so he can get a good night's rest.
playing it myself i can appreciate the sprite where bf's idle near the end of the third song he actually gets bags under his eyes and i loved every song in this mod!
canon backstory to the mod. Boy and girl (who im gonna call BnG from now on) are tasked with trying to get boyfriend (who is an insomniac cause the title) to go to sleep, Girl tries to lull him to sleep with a nice song but when that dosent work Boy tries his turn, Boy tries to tire BF out but instead, makes him more riled up, so BnG make a plan to sing together to get him to sleep, tire him with a hard song, then when he starts to get sleepy, lull him to sleep. it eventually works and BF crashes, but when the lights go out again, Monster comes out of the darkness (its not known if monster is real or fake as BnG can see both real and imaginary monsters), so with BF hiding under the covers BnG scare monster away sending BF to sleep and their mission complete. TLDR: BnG want bf to sleep but he cant cause he insomniac.

nah i dont think they intended to create any serious lore for him. And even if he was, then his power would rival or surpass Boy and Girl's, just by virtue of the fact fear and nightmares are a more prevalent and static concept across human societies and history vs the ever-shifting cultural gender stereotypes around the globe. but nah, he didn't want any smoke from them, he just immediately left after realizing what they were/how powerful they are

I have a theory that the mod was placed when BF was a kid and Boy n Girl who we know save kids from nightmares scared away Monster by singing which is why BF sings because he thinks that singing can save him no matter what.
His name is not monster.. XD... his name is Lemon Demon.. he is in week 2 of fnf the beginning of the story.. that bf fight daddy dearest (week 1), Pump and Pumkin and Lemon Demon (week 2), Mommy Mearest (week 3), The boy that is a simp for gf and looks like Monica from ddlc (week 4).. and Tankman in week 5.. I thought that everyone know that his name is Lemon Demon.. because when fnf was show in the first time in TH-cam youtubers already know that his name is Lemon Demon not Monster...

No. Boy n Girl are two entities that protect kids from nightmare entities. Monster is a nightmare entity trying to traumatize BF.
