- After years of dying over and over to X, Alan has finally given up. He is dead behind the eyes and X can see it, there is absolutely no fight left in him. This is usually the part where he would erase his victim from existence, but now he is hesitating? He really doesn't want to do it. Alan was his favourite, he was such a fun soul to play with and he always acted at his truest form. Why is he giving up now?
Is this sadness that X is feeling? It's a feeling very abstract to him and he doesn't know what to do. He's chased Alan but hasn't even killed or hurt him yet and now they've reached the edge of that burning angel island zone. Is it pointless to keep him in this world? Maybe it's better for both of them if he is erased from existence.
The reason he is in void form here is because he's trying to show Alan something he hasn't seen before and get some sort of response from him. But the void form doesn't really have any purpose besides intimidation like his internal form or 2017 costume.

what makes me love this song in general is that the main noticeable theme is that the world their in is ending and X wants his favorite toy to join him in a new world, what I got is that X gives Alan a true choice for once, to stay in a dying world and finally see heaven, or stay with his tormentor for another lifetime
The very thought of a demon singing about how it wants you the victim to stay and how it would kill itself to keep you in its world for eternal torment is a nightmare personified. Although I think it’s kinda somber and cool how it’s a perversion of Sonic and Tails’ friendship in the main series. A dark and twisted take on it which makes it so cool!

This is so hauntingly beautiful. It strikes a similar feel to Trichael but instead being X's victory but it leaves him feeling upset that his fun has ended with his oldest 'friend' always determined to stop him has finally given up. It's honestly peak Lord X content.
in the worst ending of "nightmare beginning" there was something similar, sonic said that he would restart the timeline so that the player could try and save his "friends"

Looking through the lyrics, ya really see how much X actually kind of cares for Alan, he calls him an angel in his hellish world, he says he's the one thing he could love in his dying world, even says he'd kill himself if it meant Alan staying by him as they have been, I don't know about you, but it seems to me like Alan was the closest thing Lord X got to genuinely loving someone or something, regardless of what kind of love it might be
I think of it as X being the average psychopath of the years.
He sure does have care towards Alan, but the way he showed it was... Twisted, lil bit of toxic, and stuff. He just enjoyed spending time torturing him, that's pretty much the only reason why he wanted him to stay, on the other hand, does Alan want to stay just to be tortured and called a "friend"? Nope.

How X sees it, is if Alan won't be able to satisfy him like he used to, there is no point to keep his soul.
truth be told, even if he did let alan's soul go, whats there to go back to? even if some deific presence remembered him, noone else will, no matter how close they were to alan before. friends, family, etc. they wont ever remember him

This is really creative. It shows that despite his near limitless power, he still has things beyond his reach. Over the years, he allowed himself to become attached to Alan, and wanted to keep the cycle going forever. But as the lord himself says, all good things must come to an end. I also like how this could be interpreted using what each guardian protects. Despair at his favorite giving up. Rage at fate for this inevitability. Disgust at what his victim, and in fact what he himself has become. Praying for a different outcome. Fear that he is loosing his touch, and fear of loosing his favorite toy. The Desire to stop this moment from happening. And in the end, Joy that this weight has been lifted. One of the best LXW originals, and yet another testimony to Lord X Wrath’s amazing songs.

X only shows this kind of sadness because knowing that even such an overpowering being such as x is sad for you is something that makes you wanna cry

It feels weird for Lord X to show some kind of sadness for a victim, Alan specifically, but it works and makes so much sense in the long run. It's like the "games" Lord X plays and the sagas both he and Alan go through is the way he shows care. After all, he just wants to have some fun in his own sick, twisted way.
It's a bittersweet song, but a great bittersweet song as well. Great job, Anton!

Why Tf did that hit me hard?
imagine that in this version lord X experiences sadness for the first time (on his own twisted way) and makes another guardian, the guardian of sadness, unlike Zetsubo this guardian is in constant depresion and confusion since X hasnt really experienced sadness
This song probably display lord x sadness at how alan given up and that through the years of playing(in his words) he gotten to know and thought of alan as his favorite slave since alan must've lasted far longer than any of lord x victims so him given up ended up doing something to lord x

God I unironically love this so much. It gives Lord X so much character. It gives the feeling that lord X might not be as much as a bad guy as we think. In his heart of evil and the void he still has a tiny amount of kindness and sympathy.

Omg this is fantabulous!! Seeing Lord X show some form of sympathy and emotion other then tyranny is almost moving for me, and i love this all. I love these lord x originals man, keep it up!

I love these Lord X songs, simply because X is a character I like to wonder about and put together in my own way. With this song, i can imagine it being taken on an even deeper level. I imagine a possibility or an alternate timeline where instead of X saying his farewell to Alan, it's to Sonic, and the Sonic franchise as a whole. Kinda like how he says his farewells in Tricheal, except he's saying a personal goodbye to Sonic as he dies, while also saying goodbye to the franchise. A franchise and a verse that has given him so much fun and pleasure over the years, so many souls, so many games, yet he always knew there would be so little time to enjoy it all.
A franchise that ever since he entered our world, had intrigued him, interested him. A simple blue Hedgehog running across green hills, in such a Pure, innocent, untouched realm. I've always liked to think that X isn't necessarily evil by choice, he was an entity made out of primordial energies after all, a mistake of creation. So naturally, everything he does, thinks, and perceived is twisted and demented in his own way. With no purpose, X would find his only real goal be to have fun, though his version of "fun" is sick and twisted. Not by choice, simply by default. But now that his vessel has grown old and battered, he would soon have to return to the Void, to start again, in a new vessel, and another lifetime. But before doing so, he decides to visit the blue Hedgehog Sonic himself, the one he was always interested in and inspired by in his craft. Crying out all his woes to him, and Sonics universe inadvertently, but not seeing him as a person.
I believe that X is best compared to a child who also is fascinated with Sonic. And just as a child plays with Sonic toys and figures, X plays with souls of Sonics universe, making his own games, showing his version of love for it. Something that gave him so much Satisfaction. But now, just as a child may move from Sonic, he too must move past his obsession, as much as he doesnt want to. I might be dwelling too deep into it, but I just like to wonder and imagine my own ways of characters like X. So complex, yet so simple. FIRE SONG! 🔥
