On 25 May 2024 Saturday after almost 1 year of service on the East West Line, 839/840 decides to visit and debut revenue service on the North South Line for the very first time! The train has since been doing the weekend full service on the first weekend of June (which is successful without replacement, similar to C151B 685/686 on CGL on 21 May) and subsequently on weekdays since 3 June.
Riding an R151 on the NSL feels different and refresh (especially between Yio Chu Kang and Khatib) just as the KSF trains on the EWL while this video is also my first ever NSL videos with this new model and it's also great that all 7 train models (including SIE and C151C) are present on the line through this full video! The R151 trains (alongside the newly debuted 853/854) celebrated their first anniversary on 4 June (this Tuesday) and 207/208 decides to visit the line that day (which shows how much effort this train has put in tbh compared to some other non-KSF trains) while 839/840 is present to celebrate this milestone. Welcome to the NSL, R151 trains! Really a 'lifesaver' train model to our first three generation trains (especially some that are problematic) and hope for more new R151 trainsets to visit the NSL in the future as I would prefer riding the R151 on NSL more often compared to the EWL.
