- DELAIN performing No Compliance live from their first album Lucidity at the 11th edition of the Metal Female Voices Festival 2013 in Wieze, Belgium. The Original version was sung by Sharon den Adel, and Marco Hietala from Nightwish. This fantastic live version is sung by DELAIN's leading lady Charlotte Wessels and as a surprise Sharon joins her during the song. Both Charlotte and Sharon looked stunning and their voices sounded beautifully together!
In the second part of the video Sharon sings Restless from the first Within Temptation album Enter as she remembers the time when Martijn Westerholt was still a member of Within Temptation. It's great to see that Martijn has become an accomplished artist as well with his own band DELAIN!

That would be nice but judging by most recent setlists Swan Song isn't included. I want to hear Forgiven most and that has been included, but no Angels, Memories or Jillian.

+Laili 〈3 Symphonic Metal GOT NEWS FOR YOU.....Marco Hietala aka my evil twin (just ask him, it was a progpower thing) is from TAROT. That band he started with his brother in college and reformed in 2010 and toured also with that band along with Delain so he could do his cameo with them....

He & Emppu are also from BROTHER FIRETRIBE who was to have Anette Olzon as their lead singer and they all were to leave NW. But after Tuomas did his ax job on Anette she didnt want anything to do with any of them anymore so TH effectively killed 2 bands at once.

Marco & his brother founded a band years ago while at college called TAROT. When NW was on break while TH was of in a dungeon working up Imaginarium....
Marco put that band together and also began doin side gigs as TH's madness was getting to a one man band status. AT that same time, Emppuu created a band that featured Anette called BROTHER FIRETRIBE.
The horrible debacle over her later caused her to part ways with all of NW however and so Brother Firetribe is on hold.
Avanstasia is NOT A BAND, but a production outfit that creates metal shows. Every few years a whole new one of these comes out featuring different people and its mostly good.

I spent a day with them this past week and it was old times all over again. Most people dont recognize Simone with her glasses on. A sign she is maturing I think. Delain toured with NW against my warning and is having alot of reprocussions due to that.
I dont think they will do that again.
By the way.....Marco is my evil twin. That all got started a few years ago at PPUSA over a bananna. Its just crazy backstage at these things.

What is this TARJA VS ANETTE ALL OVER AGAIN? OMG. Sharon Adel is a product of the 80s who wanted to be a rocker. When she co-founded WT it was with that in mind. But in the mid 90s EDENBRIDGE and NIGHTWISH came out and she was highly influenced by both and wanted that genre to succeed.
She & WT had a major impact on keeping symphonic metal alive and also in the creation officially of FEM METAL. Its not about her singing voice.....
ITS ABOUT HER INFLUENTIAL VOICE that has made both of these genres so that we all have LOTS OF GREAT BANDS AND SINGERS TO CHOSE FROM. Back in the 80s this was not so and all the females were left out.
Sharon Adel is THE ambassador for all fem metal. She has earned her stripes the hard way. Like her singing or not, AT LEAST CUT THIS GRAND WOMAN SOME SLACK.
You dont give Taylor Swift this kinda crap and omg talk about CAN NOT SING. And yet that twat gets 192 MILLION views. This is the real problem NOT SHARON ADEL OR CHARLOTTE WESSELS.

Wihin Temptation founded circa 1988 was a R-O-C-K BAND because what is now metal basically did not exist then especiqally the 2 most significant of them now:
1) FEM METAL
2) SYMPHONIC METAL
The closest to any of that were the "progressive rock" bands most of which were from the 1970s and Dream Theater 1990s which duplicated German band VANDEN PLAS completely.
Tarja was/is a MAJOR influence on Sharon Adel NOW and Sharon/WT actually PRODUCES TARJA as well as Anette Olzon and EPICA.
FTI: EDENBRIDGE WAS THE FIRST fully fem/symphonic band 1996/97 just 1 year prior to Nightwish. Both of those officially released albums same year in 1998.
Comparing those 2 bands: As a whole, Edenbridge has vastly more material and Sabine Eidelsbacher has a really good voice.
DUDE....I work with ALL THESE PEOPLE. I have been very close friends with Lanvall & Sabine of EB for around 10 years and actually did some collaboration work on thier award winning last album "The Bonding".
Edenbridge first FULL ALBUM WAS 1998. I have it.
THen you go to the group that BECAME WITHIN TEMPTATION and those guys are OLD SCHOOLERS from the late 80s who did power rock. After high school Sharon met up with lead guitarist and they began to date and she began to sing....
ROCK. She later married that guy. This is why she has no formal vocal training.
In 1992 sharon Adels 2 favorite female rock singers were.....
PATTY SMYTH & PAT BENATAR.
But suddenly this whole new style of symphonic stuff was coming together and featuring females. SABINE & TARJA WERE THE FIRST 2.
Now as far as the most stupid question ever.....
READ SHARON ADELS OWN COMMENTS. SHE ADORES TARJA AND HAS ADOPTED HER TO PRODUCE EVERYTHING SHE DOES. Tarja Tarunen is the most influentuial singer in Sharons life.

I founded the largest non commercial artist support foundation in the world and have official support from around 400 bands as well as already being very personal friends with at least half that many people.

I am quite surprised by the turnover of musicians in both of these bands. It is almost like they are a studio band that tours rather than a touring band that does albums.
Within Temptation has only changed 2 members since 2001, hardly a high turnover rate and both in 2010/11. Stephen left to pursue his own project and Robert retiring from touring was a necessity because someone needed to stay at home with his and Sharon's children, he still co-writes with Sharon and does some studio work too. The higher turnover rate before 2001 is not much different to most other bands in their early years. Your comment like so many others is clueless and pointless.

If you look who is the co-founder of Delain you will note that is one early members of Within Temptation, Martijn Westerholt (keyboards), who is also brother of Robert Westerholt (Sharon´s husband and Within Temptation member). So Sharon knows very well this dutch band. Google is your friend, USE IT!
+Miguel Solans first, they´re living a love story?? They are married and have three children for god sake! Second, Sharon is an experienced singer, an icon in this style of music, one of the first females (if not the first)in front of a metal band so a don´t see any reason to "scare" Sharon (I mean shes like duck to water) I don´t know you but you can not compare with someone who has years of experience in music and in stage.
