I went to Lidl to buy some sweetcorn, Turmeric, and food colouring for a arranged fishing trip and came home with one of these.... It is so easy to put up and once erected has a sturdy frame, the fixed inner groundsheet is of decent quality. As it is so light and compact I keep it in my fishing van all year round. I mostly use it for putting bait bags,, net bags cooler boxes and just about anything I am not using regularly but handy to have but don't want it cluttered on my peg with the possibility of it all getting soaked should it rain. I have used it as a shelter and a chair fits in snugly. When I bought this Lidl had some camping gear on sale and I bought a couple of cans of waterproofing spray. I applied this before I used it for extra protection. All in all this is a great little shelter and very compact with an affordable price tag. I have had mine a couple of seasons and it's never let me down. I'll keep my eye out and if I see a guy running to the 'middle of Lidl' it's probably Phil Wyatt....
Thanks! Yea I was pleasantly surprised with it as I wasn't expecting much for the price although it does seem quite good. Thanks for the extra info too!
I just read this about this shelters weather resistance. _"The minimum standard for a jacket to be waterproof is 1,500mm so a jacket with a waterproof rating of 2,000mm would be suitable for moderate rain."_ So if you know you're not going fishing during a thunderstorm, you should be good to keep relatively dry. But for £15, it looks a real bargain. And 1.5 kg is no more than 4lb. less than a couple bags of sugar. Certainly a lot lighter than the bivvy I used to use for night fishing some 25 years ago.
Trouble with Lidl in my experience is that you have to buy quickly because after a few days they are sold out, then you need to wait a year for them to stock it again. That seems to be the way work here in N.Ireland, but I have managed to pick up the odd bargain, best being a pair of 12x50 Bresser binoculars for about £15, excellent quality for the money.
Yea I agree. Here the stuff sells quickly. Luckily I follow the website and they update you to let you know when things are coming out in advance. I always pop in anyway just to see what they have.
Great review you got a new sub I also had the Lidl 2000 reel its similar to the Daiwa ninja reel at a cheaper price and spare spool I’m tempted get 1 of these shelters defo a steal for the price.thanks for sharing 🐟🎣👍

Thank you for the extra information! I do think it's a bargain really for this price. It seems half decent.
My hubby just brought the fishing canopy an I've pinched it for the garden so he had to go an by another thanks for the heads up
As you say they are also great for the garden in the summer.

Which is better, this one or the Adventureridge you reviewed from Aldi not so long ago?
I would say this one is better than the adventuridge. I prefer it and I think the quality is a bit better.
