1:39 You read what has always been on my mind. After obtaining my BSc while being unemployed, the question came to my mind “Why only men in Economic thought, What are the contributions of women to the Discipline?” I wish I asked during my undergrad

Thank you for this video! I have a discussion question comparing Neoclassical economics with Keynesian and all the websites I was reading just had wording that confused me. This explained things perfectly and in a way that helped me understand.

Adam Smith was a professor of "Moral Philosophy." His great book, The Wealth of Nations, was a thesis on political economics. By removing the politics and philosophy from the science of economics it has made our systems seem inevitable. It is time to reclaim our agency in how the world is organized.

It's only amazing to you because clearly you don't know economics! Amazing is the fact that any random man with limited knowledge about any subject can make a video full of mistakes about economics. He probably read a page about economic thought and he thinks he is capable of teaching hahaa Ignorance can only spread ignorance lol. Menger never used the word utility. Let alone marginal utility and DMU. Jevons himself didnt use the word marginal. If you want to learn about something, read the original manuscript. Not a 5 min video by a non professional... and by the way. Menger never used mathematics in his writings!

To be fair. It's all good and well to get excited, because "Muh... Has graphs and mathematics". But so much of it assumes an ideal case, with premises and parameters oft ignored expediently. And then you observe emergent trends that sees producers promote irrational thought patterns in consumers, or even the repression of quality public education, simply to keep the iterations ticking over. The missing link is sustainability. In lieu of the quality of sustainability, all claims to rationality are disqualified. Naturally. With zero prejudice, not that the end result is any less terminal. By reality.
It's often enough like listening to habitual speedsters bragging that they have "skills". And all the road problems are the fault of unskilled drivers. Especially those who don't go over the speed limit in the "fast lane". When really they tend to conflate the fact that they've had no accidents thus far, terminal or otherwise, with actual superhuman ability. Which is of course the exception, and not the norm. And all they've really experienced thus far is dumb luck.
