dangit, I was hoping this game would be terrible so I could ignore it, as I don't need another long game to get wrapped up in.... but unfortunately, this one looks too good to pass up, and something that would be right up my alley :)
Hi Mike, thanks a lot for your video. At 33.47' don't you have to put the adjacent damage in contact with the ones from the card that was attacked in first place ? I was expecting for this video :)
They have to be adjacent to the other damage you placed with that specific attack. They do not have to be adjacent to existing damage from previous attacks. Sorry if I messed that up!
Great game play, the torch you just gain after defeating all the enemies, wouldn't that single attack symbol on the torch mean a counter attack with a single hit, without the enemies blocking?.
Hi everyone, Quick question. I’m playing my first campaign of Distant Skies and I can’t understand something about the combat. Can I use the small ability from the Skill card Memory to boost an attack made with the Adventure Card 130 Meecra’s Shard? Thanks Fran
We decided not to use it yesterday evening but we both thought it would have been better to do so. We will definitely use it next time. Thanks for your help, Fran
Thanks for the presentation. Looking forward to hear your review on this one. I truely hated the original Sleeping Gods. Managing the 9 characters was everything else than enjoyable, the extreme difficulty spikes and obnoxiously punishing events were dreadful. The whole gameplay felt wrong and tedious. It was one of the rare games I truely hated. Giving its succesor a shot is entirely out of question. Of course, that is my personal experience and I understand the game was beloved by many. I hope everyone will have a great time with the new one.
I enjoyed it more than you, but I also agree with a lot of your takes on the original. This new one fixes almost all of that stuff, though some will say it goes too far in the other direction, making things too easy by the end of the campaign. But honestly for my tastes I prefer that over the alternative :)
@@OneStopCoopShop It usually is much easier to up the difficulty effectively via house rules than tuning it down. But again, that is also a personal thing.
this looks soooooo much better to play than the original for solo! gonna have to keep an eye for it!
There are still a few rough spots I’ll get into with my review, but generally I agree!
Holy crap! What amazing voice over! Bravo!👏 Bravooo! 👏
Haha, thanks. I had fun with this one
Thanks for the play through, Mike. I just got my copy last week and cannot wait to get it to the table.
Hope you have a blast!!
This is such a great story system. Excited to start my own adventure.
You did a great job reading the intro! I appreciate the voices you did. 😊
Aw, thanks! You should watch the Senjutsu playthrough. That has the goofiest narration of all
You nailed the Oslo accent. My immersion was unbroken!
lol, thanks!!! I spent hours preparing
Just landed on my doorstep yesterday. Excited to see how this version has been updated
Hope you enjoy it!
Great demo (as always), Mike!
Can't believe Forteller didn't approach you for narration 😂 top notch
My mastery of accents is probably too intimidating for them!
Thanks for the playthrough Mike!
I believe you forgot to take the 3 damage from the event card, but also the torch as a reward! 😉
Whoops, sorry about that!

Oh no, it's a super bad game and very rude. I heard it punched some dude yesterday. You should definitely stay away! ;)
that happened fast, thx again.

You can discard it to deal 1 damage. It doesn't count as one of the 4 attacks for the turn, and doesn't cause a counter attack.

I don't see any reason why not! The rules don't differentiate between combat skills and non-combat skills. So eat your honey and do more damage :)
We decided not to use it yesterday evening but we both thought it would have been better to do so.
We will definitely use it next time.
Thanks for your help,
Fran
Hope it gets translated like Sleeping Gods.
We need a five n five.
Check the schedule I just posted yesterday. It’s coming on Monday, with a full comparison to the original game
just what I needed
The more magic in a story the less thematic it is
Not sure what you mean, sorry! Harry Potter/Dresden Files/Lord of the Rings/etc. aren’t thematic stories?
Thanks for the presentation. Looking forward to hear your review on this one.

@@Biodelic and this new one already has ways to up the difficulty quite a bit, so yeah I think they are doing it right :)
