- Come with me to Detroit to check out several amazing layouts and so so so many great trains! I got to see and run trains I haven't before, and had an absolute blast doing it! We also hung out with some of the best people around, can't be that!

Great show Peachy, and you've got a subscriber, love your enthusiasm! And I might have known a good Georgia woman would be a fan of a fine southern railroad like the Atlantic Coast Line! And if you're heading to York for the first time in October be prepared to be amazed! I went for the first time in April and I certainly was! I'm not heading to the October show this year but I'll most likely hit next years.
PS: Bring cash! Well OK, the bigger exhibitors in the Orange Hall will most likely take cards but don't miss the other halls restricted to TCA members, you'll need the cash there and you can find some great deals!

Granted York isn't what it was 10 or 20 years ago but it is still the biggest and best event dedicated to the 3 rail/Standard Gauge/Flyer segment of the hobby. Been going for decades...See you at York!
If she's never been she'll love it just the same. I attended the York show for the first time in April and was amazed at what I saw and found. Never mind "It isn't what it was," it's still worth the trip!
@@wayneantoniazzi2706 never said it wasn’t worth the trip, I’m lucky to live only 2 hours from the fairgrounds. Still the best and only event in the country dedicated to the 3rail hobby but also no secret the winds of change are blowing through the York Fairgrounds…
@@mattstrainroom Fair enough! The thing is "...what it used to be" is pretty subjective. We've got some members here in the Virginia Train Collectors Association who moan "York's not what it used to be!" and others who say "9,000 people showed up for the three days! What more do you want?"
I apologize if you got the impression I charactarized you as one of the moaners, I'd never purposely insult anyone on these forums.
By the way, I live four hours from the fairgrounds, I'd never been to York as I've done so well at the local shows I didn't see the need to go, but I'm glad I did, I had a ball! I probably won't go again until next year but I'll definately go again!

I'm pleased to see that you had a good time visiting Michigan. You got to see and operate on some really nice layouts. Great Lakes Hobby was my halfway home stretch stop back when I worked in the city. I have to admit that my paycheck rarely made it out the door intact.
Yes there were some amazing layouts! And I can see why your paycheck rarely made it intact haha, they had some awesome trains in there. Thankfully (or not) I was limited on what I could buy by what I could get back on the plane lol

The locomotive at 06:30 is the Lionel Vision Line 700E Hudson which features the swinging bell feature and the whistle steam smoke effect. It was released by Lionel in 2011.
The engine at 08:52 is Lionel’s first release of their Vision Line Challenger from 2010. It features the whistle steam smoke effect, the dynamo smoke effect and the injector smoke effect. It even has sound systems in both the tender and the locomotive.
The engine at 12:34 is Lionel’s latest rendition of the Pennsylvania S-1. It was a single experimental engine for the PRR. It had some problems that would haunt the engine throughout its career. It required wide curves and a lot of clearance on the sides of the track. As a result, the real S-1 was restricted to the mainline between Chicago, Illinois and Crestline, Ohio. Another problem it faced was wheel slippage because less than half the weight of the engine was supported by the driving wheels.
The layout at 14:03 is the size of trains known as Standard Gauge introduced by Lionel in 1906.
This is really cool and I am enjoying the video, maybe after bit I am going to start back up on one of my 0 scale projects I have been working on, I have more then one scale I am working on.

I made the Lionel ho gauge Strasburg 4-6-4 no 90 and it will have a box car and 4 passenger cars it a LionChief
