Good observation! I think sci-fi often gets harsher critiques because it demands a solid storyline, a well-built world, and often expensive effects that need to be convincing. Horror, on the other hand, gets more leeway as long as it can evoke strong emotions. Do you have any favorite sci-fi titles you think were unfairly judged?
Sounds like the start of an intriguing quote! Is it from a movie, book, or your own thought? I’d love to hear what’s behind that 'BLANK' and 'WHATEVER'!
Happy New Year to you too! 🎉 Bianca is lucky to have such kind words and support-standing up for independent journalism is no small feat. Wishing you both an amazing 2025 filled with success and new opportunities!
I'm glad the list caught your attention! If you haven’t seen any of these yet, you’re in for some great viewing. Which title are you planning to watch first? Let me know what you think once you’ve checked one out!
Things will be different was incredible. Sooooo deep. Slow pace but still riveting. After viewing, some definite thought is required to really understand what happened.
Totally agree! Things Will Be Different has that unique vibe-slow but absolutely captivating. The depth and layers in the story definitely stick with you long after it’s over. It’s one of those films that keeps you thinking and finding new interpretations. What was your take on the ending? Did it leave you with more questions or a sense of closure?
Thanks for your feedback! I’m glad you liked the list and have already seen some of the movies. Is there a title that stood out to you the most? Or maybe you have suggestions that should be added to the next list?
Thanks so much for the kind words! It’s really motivating to hear that. If you have any ideas for future lists or topics, feel free to share - I’m always open to suggestions!
Not necessarily! Some hidden gems fly under the radar because they don’t get big marketing budgets or mainstream attention. Sometimes, the unknown ones turn out to be the most creative and unique. Have you ever stumbled across a lesser-known movie that completely blew you away?
Thanks for subscribing, and I’m glad you liked the list! If you have any suggestions for what you’d like to see in the future, let me know. Great to have you here!
Good catch! While AI can help streamline content creation, it sometimes makes things sound a bit too similar or formulaic. The goal is always to make the descriptions engaging and unique. What kind of tone or style do you prefer for these kinds of write-ups?
They are OH SOOOOO European. The future is dark, dangerous, everything is falling apart, doom and gloom. I WANT movies where everything is fine at the end after the heroes put in a lot of effort. I see and read POISON daily in the news and I am NOT going to watch it for "entertainment". Check Space Cowboys against all of this dark trash, how they do not even register against this movie. Check Enemy Mine space movie (remake of an older war movie) how humans and aliens reconciled their differences. There are MORE of this memorable movies. If you watch them they bring HOPE, NOT DESPAIR. I know first Blade Runner still, but the second almost zero. It means it was not good.
I totally get you! Sometimes, we get tired of dark, gloomy stories, especially when we're constantly faced with negative news. Movies like Space Cowboys and Enemy Mine really give hope, showing that after the heroes' efforts, there’s a positive outcome. Sometimes it’s just what we need to watch something uplifting. If you’re interested, I can put together a list of films that carry hope and positive messages!
@@richardbennet8597 Yes, the first one I CAN remember parts even after decade the second almost zero, just a very depressive atmosphere...can't remember any real action
@@richardbennet8597 2049 was okay but that's it. Some people hype it up but it was not anywhere near the level of greatness that the original achieved.
I guess it's a cultural thing. I am French and not interested at all in those stupidly happy ending Hollywood movies (but agree with you, Ennnemy Mine is a great movie). I am not always hoping for grim ending but I want movies that start with a premice, whatever it is, and stick it logically and relentlessly to the end, good or bad. To much Hollywood movies are ruined by a forced happy ending. Bladerunner 2049 is a great film. I don't know how old you are, but i was there in 1981 for the release of the first Blade Runner. Everybody has forgotten this, but it was panned by the critics and a big flop. It took years for it to get its cult movie status. And the end was not exactly uplifting !
Thanks so much for the kind words! It’s awesome to hear that you’re enjoying the content. What kind of films or genres would you like to see covered next? Always looking for inspiration!
I get your disappointment, especially if you were expecting something space-related. It’s frustrating when a movie promises one thing but delivers something entirely different. Have you seen anything recently that lived up to your expectations?
These movies seem like the best of mediocrity, the description is almost the same for each of them - terrrible! I'm not gonna see any. Has this been written by AI? Awful video
Thanks for your honesty-I appreciate all feedback. I create all the descriptions and content myself because I’ve been passionate about cinema for years and love sharing it with others. However, I understand that the style or selection might not resonate with everyone. Do you have any suggestions for movies you think deserve more attention?
@@bestmovies-wg1rq If you like these movies, and it is your own writing, then I'd suggest that you focus on what makes each movie unique, and what you specificly liked about it. Not a generalised thing like - "and revealing the human conflict in the family, the society the man, whatever" like you ended each description. As for finding obscure movies from 2024 - I'm not into that at all, sorry, that is what You like to do ;)
Ouch, I get where you’re coming from-those ads can definitely get a bit overwhelming at times. 😅 But hey, at least you’ve got a system for dealing with it! What’s the most annoying ad you’ve come across recently?
Fair enough! Sometimes it’s hard to find something that really catches your eye. Maybe these titles just aren’t hitting the mark for you. What kind of movies or shows are you usually drawn to? I’d love to help you find something that stands out.
Streaming platforms have different catalogs depending on the country, which can make finding certain titles tricky. As for lesser-known movies - their obscurity is precisely what makes them harder to track down. If they were easy to find, they wouldn’t be 'lesser-known' anymore. If you need help locating a specific title, let me know - I’d be happy to assist!

You notice that critics are harder on sci-fi than horror movies? It IS harder to find quality sci-fi than horror.

yes we know
Parallel was a wild movie with an old school Twilight Zone feel to it.
