@@patland1762 When people are calling for a death of a people. Laws are in place for that...And these protests are on course with what the hitler youth did back in the day. Or, do you not see that. They can protest all they want. Free Speech has its limiitations:
"Second, a few narrow categories of speech are not protected from government restrictions. The main such categories are incitement, defamation, fraud, obscenity, child pornography, fighting words, and threats. As the Supreme Court held in Brandenburg v. Ohio (1969), the government may forbid “incitement”-speech “directed at inciting or producing imminent lawless action” and “likely to incite or produce such action” (such as a speech to a mob urging it to attack a nearby building). But speech urging action at some unspecified future time may not be forbidden." www.britannica.com/topic/First-Amendment/Permissible-restrictions-on-expression

The Constitution -- is the law of our land. Thomas Jefferson made the 1st Amendment the 1st for good reason. Why do people rush to defend the 2nd Amendment and forget the 1st Amendment exists?? The students have a God-given right to protest and not be harmed while doing so -- just as the police should be kept safe. We are all Americans. This idea of subjectivity in whether the Constitution applies -- is not for university administrations or anyone to interpret. Don't tread on our Constitutional rights.

You don't have a clue.....if the University administration says you're not protesting on University grounds then that's it .
The Universities property rights trumps your 1st amendment rights every time. You have a constitutional right to protest just not wherever the fug you want.

My daughter goes to UT, & it scared me to death when she called me & I could hear sirens in the background. I stayed on the phone with her until she made it home safe. She wasn't involved with the protest, but it upset her deeply. I think they went way too far. Regardless of anyone's stance on the protest, these are students! I'm appalled by how they treated the students, & I fear for my daughter's safety on campus now!
