- The torch-carrying ceremony is held every year on the 8th, 9th, and 10th nights of Muharram by Najafis and Karbalais living in Tehran in the neighborhood of Iraqis living in the capital, located in Dowlat Abad. The torches carried in this ceremony symbolize the torches that set fire to the tent of Aba Abdullah al-Hussein, and the extensive playing of drums also reminds us of the playing of drums during the attack of Yazid and Ibn Ziyad's army on the tent of Ahl al-Husayn. It is the house of Imam Hussain and the people of the shrine to prevent the voices of fear, screams, and screams of women and children from being heard by playing the drums loudly.

Muharram mourning is mourning and commemoration that is done on the occasion of the killing of Hussain bin Ali and a group of her companions that happened in Karbala in 61 AH.
Mourning for Hussain bin Ali and his companions begins on the first day of Muharram and reaches its peak at noon of Ashura. In the evening and in the evening of Ashura, this mourning continues under the name of the dinner ceremony of strangers. On the 12th day of Muharram, a ceremony called "Third of Imam Hossein" is performed. These types of ceremonies continue on the 16th of Muharram under the name of "7th of Imam Hossein" and on the 20th of Safar under the name of "Arbain". Of course, mourning for Hossein bin Ali is not limited to the month of Muharram and is done on other days of the year as well, according to the culture and customs of each region. The mourning ceremony of the third Shia imam is very important from the Shia point of view, and performing it is worship.
Muharram mourning is done in different ways in different places. In addition to religious dimensions, Muharram mourning has political and social dimensions. The mourning of Iranian Shiites in the month of Muharram has always been spontaneous and the governments have not interfered in setting up mourning groups and holding mourning meetings.
