I feel a tinge of sadness whenever is watch videos like this one echos of the past Nostalgia sweeps over me . I remember my parents used to say the good old days. well for me i remember my own good old days. my old school at Cadoxton canoeing the Neath canal. swinging like Tarzan from a rope in the tall trees next to Neath Abby with my old mate. I will soon be 74 i wonder how many of them are still alive. I remember Eisteddfod and the big assembly hall at my old school and catching the school bus home to Bryncoch. many bitter sweet memories of my childhood years but i prefer the happy memories as they are the best and the beautiful mountains of Glamorgan that reach down towards the sea,
Born and bred in Neath. One line of my family tree goes back to the late 1600’s still in Neath! My great great grandfather was the first person in Neath to own a motor car apparently, and rode a 5hp bike from lands end to John o groats. Can dig out newspaper articles somewhere with all the details. The town itself, like most places has gone to ruin, along with society in general. The Valley and surrounding areas more than make up for it. Beautiful place to live
Neath is a lovely town wich I have visited many times every time I return to my hometown of Swansea every few years I allways catch the train to neath and spend the day in the town lots too see and do neath Abbey is outstanding and great pubs in the town centre and a great old market and much more
Swansea was known as Copperopolis, all but one of the UK Copperworks was on the Tawe. Where was the odd-one-out. Red Jacket on the Red jacket Pill opposite The Steel works and Giant's Grave.
Born and live in Swansea, but for reasons I had to go to school in Neath both in the Gnoll and Cefn Saeson. Quite enjoyed it there actually. Nice little town.
I grew up in Neath & always hated the place. I couldn't wait to get out of there at the age of 16. I'm 54 now & am so glad I left behind that horrid place. There was nothing there when I was a child & I'm told the place has gone down hill rather a lot since then. If you want to waste your life, go to live in Neath.

Neath is nothing like it use to be. It has gone right down hill. Such a shame as it was a lovely town years ago.

Loved the stall in the market selling books, coins and stamps. Spent a lot of my pocket money there.

As children, I remember cycling to Giants Grave and clambering all over HMS Bermuda. No one said a word. It was probably a Sunday.
