    Great video FlavourfulPickle. You explained the passives really well, and I have been so curious about all the global/local interworkings. Only missing the one most fluffy.

    love the content, keep up the deep dives on the math behind the game. my preference is to be able to spec each weapon for different purposes, adding flexibility to my play style, I love having options. in some MMOs you are at a disadvantage when using a ranged weapon in melee, I don't think that is the case in AOC, so being able to start with the melee stunner and switch to the penetration ranged weapon mid combat is an incredible mechanism, for me at least.

      I agree and I absolutely love it too!! I think one of my favourite things is the fact that spellbows are a thing!! Like! Genius! Thank you for the feedback too! I’ll keep working on these vids and maybe improve my editing one day 😅

    Good video! I think having both weapon trees be global would be cool, but I think it makes sense that they don’t apply to each other - you pick the weapon that makes sense for the situation. I’m stacking crit on bow (for non armored targets I can kit) and penetration on melee (bc armored targets tend to get in my face more)

      Thanks for the comment, I’m still torn, the idea of having both is juicy but tbh independence also makes sense. It’s just a little confusing how it’s all meant to work still. We submitted a bug reported last night as we’ve uncovered that unequipped weapons passive trees are also proccing deadly finishers which is broken. Thanks for watching my video! :)

      @@maxpower643 hmm did you do anything or was it fixed game side? If so, it's not fully fixed as my bow is still proccing snared and bleed when it's not suppose to.

      @@BlandPickle when i moved all of my gear from my bard to my cleric, it seemed like my cleric's attacks were working as intended.
      now that i have switched back to my bard, and switched to a short spellbow instead of a spellbook, my attacks are not only proccing both the spellbow snare, the greatsword wound, but also the chill from the spellbook.
      idk whats going on anymore lol.

    The easy solution is to use the scepter to stun then switch to the bow to do more dmg with the pen slotted...

      Theres a number of ways to cut it, some viable, some broken. The way damage numbers apply between weapons (video coming on that soon) and their interactions with the passives is more on focus here. My argument is about some aspects of the weapons synergizing globally whilst others are local, which makes it hard to determine if their interactions are a bug or intended.

    Just going to let you know now, as someone who has 3 different weapons maxed out. For some strange reasons, if you respec your weapons fully, the final skill tree abilities actually do apply and carry over when using a different weapon. Not sure why. So for example, I am running greatsword and shortbow... while using my shortbow and applying shortbow finishers, im not only getting my shortbow last tree abilties to proc, but im also getting my greatsword last skill tree abilities to proc at the same time. So during a shortbow finisher im getting arrowstorm and blademaster at the same time, which drastically increases my dps. This is where it gets weird and I havent been able to figure this out, but a friend of mine oftentimes switches his 2 main weapons (greatsword and bow) with a physical spellbook. The spellbook is capable of applying burning through finishers for example, so hes not only getting the 2 perks from his main weapons to proc, but also a 3rd weapon which is burning BUT this 3rd weapon seems to happen very randomly almost like the game is desynced and still thinks he has it equipped.

      Yes! I was on stream with a fellow TH-cam and we worked out that other skill trees from other weapons remain active even if you switch to a new weapon! It’s wild, so we’ve bug reported it. Suggest you do too!!

    I like your analysis. I am just not sure if the game is complete enough to do such a deep thoughts on stuff. Lot of things feel very barebone and it is hard to assess what is intended and what is not yet implemented.

      I agree, part of the reason I do these is to find deeper potential bugs in the game to contribute to the final product (at least ideally and hopefully hahah) and also Steven has shown this system off and express that this system will be close to what is produced in the final release of the game. To that end, things change and I and fully agree this may all change (hopefully it stays similar) but it’s relevant for the now. It helps people play the game atm in its current state which is important to me :)

    I have been doing a lot of testing also, what is confusing the shit out of me is why is my great sword burning and bleeding...the only way i think i add burns to my attack is from spell book.... but im testing sword/bow stuff for global vs local... this games does some weird shit at times making testing very confusing

      Yeah I’m going through the same thing. I managed to crack the global local stuff, I have another video on it coming. The additional deadly finishers are a bug. It’s proccing the DF from previous weapons you wore, it suggests that the passive tree of previous weapons doesn’t deactivate if you used previous weapons and switch to new ones. Please bug report if you can :) good luck with your testing bud! Keen to hear what you find out
