" She put him out like the burning end of a midnight cigarette" the best opening line ever. Allison has a angelic voice.

They're buried next to one another, because they loved eachother.

Really good reaction! Alison Krause is easily as famous as Brad Paisley. I've never heard them together before this, but they make an excellent duo.

Beautiful song and a tragic story. As a military veteran I know this situation is all too common.

I like Brad Paisley even though Im not a Country listener. And I liked your reaction. My ex was a (solid) metal guy, but he grew to love Brad P - maybe not primarily for the country niche, but for the awesome lyrics to his songs. The music too grew on him as he noticed this guy has his own style of writing and performing. Some of the stuff Brad P has done is so witty and funny (not in a nerdy was, but in a smart way) that we used to laugh out loud listening to him in the car. This is a really sad one. A nice one is "He didn't have to be" and a funny one is " Im gonna miss her". Give him a go - I think you'll appreciate what he brings to the table.
    Thanks - take care! :)

I like the story of the home remodel. I know someone who had been into drugs, but managed to pull away long enough to take a good hard look at this life. He decided to buy a Corvette so he wouldn't have money for the wrong things. Today he is happily married and his kids are all beyond high school. You just need enough strength to manage today. If you look at the road ahead, it will always seem too rough to survive.

In the era of the video, letters were the only method of communication and an unreliable one at best. She possibly had not heard from him and didn't know if he would be coming home. She could not forgive herself for what happened.

Talk about depressing and sad but beautifully sung and the video was done well. But man so sad

Thank you so much Norse for checking this one out! I thought I would give you a fantastic country song (which I did) but I realize now that it really brings out feelings, all sorts of them... I was also pissed as hell in the beginning when I saw the video - but then, after a few spins, it made me think some more...
Interesting end there, with the little girl turning her back to watch, does she represent and angel perhaps? A song that for me brought quite a few questions to myself.
I really appreciate you channel and I thank you so much for doing a bit of (new) country! Alison has a lot to offer, as well as Brad.
    All the best for now,
    Anders

I think children are much more pure and open to the spirit realm than adults. I think maybe the little girl knows that those two were meant to be together and the world, the natural realm, etc interfered with that. You know they wanted to be together, but their hurt and their pride got in the way. And the only way for them to finally be together was in the afterlife. And she was able to see and understand that. It doesn't entirely align with my personal beliefs, but maybe that's what the video was trying to project. I enjoy stories like that and appreciate the recommendation.

@@NORSEVIKING An analysis not too far from my own. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
My next warm recommendation is: Rammstein with their new song"Zeit". Actually the best video I have seen in my 53 year old life (and a good song as well)! Please do check it out.
...and Dream Theater "Barstool warrior". Ahh... Amazing song with a solo to match!
I´ll just keep ém coming here... Hahahaha...

@@andersgranstrom7128 I did a reaction to Zeit. By the time it had a crazy ass 15K views, TH-cam blocked it. I was so disappointed. I'm about to do Zick Zack and just hope it'll stay up. I want to try to get Zeit reapproved. Hopefully, it won't be a mark against my channel because it was SO good.

I promise to stop writing, for at least a month now.... ;-)

Finally, someone who understands military people do what they feel needs to be done. I spent 33 years in Air Force blue, 26 (1974-2000) active duty. I never served a day hoping I would be thanked but I accept that people tell me thanks. If they take the time to talk with me they will learn that I considered it both an honor and a privilege to do what I had to do.

True words. I almost unalived myself in my youth when I was in a situation like this. It hurts so bad that I can't even describe it. I remember it to this day, and I'm 50 years old now. It still hurts.

My daughter divorced her husband. He had terrible hours of depression. He became very unstable until she couldn't deal with it. Not long after their divorce he killed himself. She's never gotten over it. Some of the people in our small town called her a "black widow". She's 60 now. It's been 30 years. She changed from a happy joyful person to someone who is somewhat withdrawn. Sad. She was not allowed at his funeral (understandably his family was very bitter). A family friend of his got permission for her to say her goodbyes one last time. We hope he is at peace now. But the pain he left behind had far reaching effects. His little boy when he got older ended up in therapy. He loved his daddy very much.

brother, as a vet that went through it 2x while I was in military. I forgave 1 of them. How? I don't know. I guess I understood maybe what they went through when I was gone. I don't know. I'm with a wonderful woman that isn't either one of them. I guess neither one was worth me sticking with. My wife now is the best thing that ever happended to me. I guess I had to go through it all to snag the one I have.

      NORSE.
This was WW2 completely different to today, no mobile phones then, you died and stayed where you fell.
Only letters if they could be written, posted and received, telegrams about the dead and missing, and they were hit and miss.
Nobody knew anything and men were away for years, no leave or knowing when the men would be home if still alive, usually at the end of the war that lasted nearly 6 years.
This is happening now, there is no excuse, but then can be understood more....
It was a time of huge uncertainty...

I have a black and yellow hat I love to wear that apparently resembles a veterans hat. I've been thanked for service a couple of times. It felt so weird (obviously because I'm not a veteran) but like you said, you don't want to be rude. To one of them, I just nodded and smiled (and felt so crappy about it). Then, I've showed the hat to another person, trying to be honest, and they appeared so discouraged or embarrassed by their mistake. So, it made me wonder. I appreciate your response.
