Quick note: AF is contrast detect not phase detection. And can’t do 10 bit in 4K 50/60p but it can do it in 4k up to 30fps (ALL I)

Well I would expect phase detect AF if I would drop 6 grand. At least it isn't completely janky dog poop this time.

Actually deers are color blind... that's why a lot of hunting gear is bright orange camo (the camo pattern is still important though, as they can see those).

@@akhyarrayhka4048 I think only the M remain unchanged. Q2 use the same sensor as Lumix S1r. It's like a good Japanese chief cook German dish. Maybe not authentic but still tastes good :P

Without doubt the best mirrorless camera for amateur photographers with deep pockets. The L mount alliance offers more lenses than the available RF or Z mount. That is highly important.
The medium format Hasselblad X1D II is a little more expensive and has a similar size and weight but lacks a variety of autofocus lenses and all of them are very expensive.
Leica SL2 can have affordable native L mount lenses from Panasonic and Sigma. Sigma recently has introduced the full frame L mount 35mm f/1.2 and the 24-70mm f/2.8 but very impressive and not very expensive lenses.
The Leica SL2 has a great future.

In Richmond Park in South West London where I imagine this is, there is an annual cull of the deer at the end of the breeding season.

Kai how do you get such clean outdoor audio? We use the RodeLink too but find it's picking up a ton of ambient noise.

Less that the Nikon D5 when it came out and probably the Canon counterpart... Close in price to the Q2 too.. I wonder if it too will be on a 6 month waiting list.

5 - Dust Protected, meaning ingress of dust is not entirely protected but must not enter in suffiect quantity to interferee with the operation.
4 - Splashing Water meanin,g that water splashing against the enclosure shall have no harmful effect.
So yeah you can get dust into it and if it gets to wet it will die.
So many sarcastic remarks in this review, but still one of the most informative reviews.

Deer are partly colourblind. That's why hunters wear hivis orange camo. It's contours and movement that alerts them rather then colour.

thanks for great review. I've A7Riii, and if I want to compare color/image quality with my A7Riii I prefer my A7Riii. I don't like the colors and image quality which I see in this video.
maybe am wrong. maybe it is just because the quality of this review video, or maybe because is the bad weather during review. I don't know really, that is why it will stay my personal opinion and of course I can be easily wrong .

Leica is the Meryl Streep of cameras. Everyone fawns over them yet no one can genuinely explain why. They’re both well past their prime and now just phone it in. I bet the engraving department is on 24 hour stand-by awaiting the artwork for the next cash cow celebrity limited edition.
I think most Leica shooters have a good reason for shooting Leica. As for the film M, it's a tool. Some people prefer the looks and/or handling over a similar alternative. Some people like using an M, for example, because it was/is the choice of their favorite photographer. For some it's both. And just like Canikon, once a consumer is invested in a system with lenses and accessories, they will tend to stick with it.
Perhaps the reason why you say 'no one can explain', is that their opinion isn't good enough for you.
RuyLopezQB6 I had my Leica M cameras and lenses a few decades ago. I was told by everyone it’s was the pinnacle of photographic excellence so I went into debt and made the purchase. The one problem was I didn’t like it. Nice results but a pain in the ass otherwise. But for years i kept using them because everyone said they were awesome. Finally I said it out loud that I don’t care for Leica M cameras and sold the kit, and yet No leica user tried to change my mind or was offended by my decision. But the reaction I got from people who had never owned or even handled a Leica was the same as if I had said I hate the Beatles or insulted their prophet. So yea Leica users have their reasons, but this Leica worship and circle jerk from non users and especially noob photographers is borderline cult-ish.

Seems like you want to complain about people having opinions on your experience with Leica, whether they ever owned one or shot one, or not. That's not the same as "no one can explain why".

I didn't defend the brand, I defended the reason why people might prefer to shoot Leica - the people you implied don't know why they are doing it, or would want to.

It doesn't bother me if you prefer Fed 4 or Nikon to Leica, or SLR to rangefinder. Shoot a Buzz Lightyear camera if you want. You apparently don't like your opinion being judged by 'everyone', yet it is you who is the camera snob and gatekeeper.

Kai, love your videos, but you should really put a high pass filter on your recorded audio when it's windy out. That way we won't hear the crazy bass the wind is producing on the microphone

Sir , How is Image stabilisation in general. With 47.3MP I fear image might have some shake captured when heavy lens is used with SL2.

Since I have two Summicron lenses which is 50mm and 85mm F2 made by Germany on Leica M4-P has passed to me from my dad and set there for 15 years then now I plan to get one digital camera with L mount adapter with full frame.
