I like the title "Summer of Love " for the vinyl better. Hate to tell ya this, but I’m a mega LZ fan and have been for over 30 years, and there is nothing wrong with David Coverdale. He’s a decent guy and he also had a much stronger voice that Plant did after he blew out his vocal chords by not taking care of his voice. That Coverdale/Page album is fantastic. Robert had a hard time singing during and after 1975. Some LZ bootlegged shows are literally cringe-worthy because his voice was so bad-it was the other three musicians that carried him all those years. Page did it right by collaborating with Coverdale. Plant has a terrible ego, and can’t handle competition - or what HE sees as competition. He behaved like a child during that time. By the way, Coverdale was not trying to copy Plant’s voice at all. He really has his own and he used it on the Coverdale/Page album. Sounded nothing at all like Robert.
I just read that the comments Robert made during the Page /plant time, Kennedy Awards another comments, Robert eventually got on one knee to ask for forgiveness JPJ is one Classy Musician.
It’s called jealous girl syndrome. Coverdale always responded with class until he had enough and basically called plant a plagiarizing pansy and kind of said Jimmy Page made him.
