7:05 there has been a slight mistranslation here the man was talking about how bashar's father caused corruption to muslims in syria, driving them away from there islamic believes. He was also talking about how muslim women shouldn't flaunt(تبرج) as well as talking about the veiling of muslim women not all women.
Objectively if they have some sort of Sharia law in the new Syria, it won't be far different from other predominantly Muslim nations. We westerners watch those soldiers and think "oh no it's just going to be an Islamic State" but only because we've been conditioned to fear all aspects of Islam, which is absurd when a billion or so people are Muslims living in peace. The Assad regime was clearly a brutal dictatorship that needed to be taken down. The fact that it might not be replaced with the western ideal of society is quite immaterial. Hey maybe Syria will get worse, but it might also get better, nobody knows yet.
People forget that those billions of muslims that lived in peace are mostly south east asians who since a long time ago have lived in harmony or even yet were once non muslims themselves and still have families that are not muslims or countries like egypt, algeria, jordan, uae, etc where the government are stacked with secularist and are hostile towards political islam Don't think syria fits the description there
You’re right. I found it telling that this French production immediately tried to cast suspicion on HTS for waving the flag with the shaheda. Sure, the French can claim they’re strict secularists and that’s why they mistrust any form of political Islam. Or, it could be a bit of defensive reaction for having propped the Assad family for so long.
@@bigguy3636 Thats the biggest lie i've ever heard no muslim is hostile towards "political Islam" Also no muslim government is like that. Maybe stop watching western bs abt Islam and actually go do research!

Finally a Westerner who gets it. Us Muslims in Syria have been living together with Christians, Jews, Druze and many others for 1400 years. 70 years ago, before the Assad dictatorship, when the Americans still had racial segregation and were lynching black people, we in Syria were living together peacefully. Nobody would ever even ask someone "what religion do you belong to?". We even have Christian private schools in Syria, but here in Europe, us Muslims aren't even allowed to have the prayer called out loudly from the mosques, and Muslims are regularly discriminated against by governments and people alike. Yet somehow we're painted as the ones oppressing minorities.
@@Shinkajo I think he means that the man said that women should wear hijab whilst the translation says veil. While the hijab is technically a veil, the first thing that veil will make you think is a burka etc rather he could have translated it simply as hijab or headscarf. Do you know how to say "Qiiiiq" in Arabic? Welcome to the new Syriastan made 50 appointments, including 6 foreign fighters including Chinese, Uighurs from Central Asia, a Turk, an Egyptian, and a Jordanian.
They'll be returned to their owners. If their owners are criminals who bought them with stolen money from the people of Syria, they might be dispossessed. In that case, they'll probably slowly be sold to wealthy people, and the money will be deposited in the central bank as government property.
