Good vs Bad Root Canal

Not all root canals are created equal, and the awful ones are what give root canals a bad name.
A GOOD root canal is one that follows the two cardinal rules:
1) Find every canal
2) Get to the bottom of each one
A BAD root canal… Well, it's one that doesn't!
Your job as a clinician is to make sure you ONLY take on cases that are within your comfort zone and refer out the rest. 👋🏽
Otherwise, you risk performing a subpar root canal that can cause further problems down the road (like needing a retreatment from endodontists like me!)
As for patients, their job is to make sure they do their homework to find a provider that's proficient in the procedure that they need.
As long as we all work together to make sure the GOOD root canals win out, then we can keep on saving more teeth! 🦷
