- Balatro Part 5 - surely the previous run can't be beat, now it's time to experiment! Oh wait a second... This run was definitely sloppy, but that's because I wasn't expecting it to go to the moon. I guess that means there's even more room for improvement!

I got so mad at the psychic fight because i kept using 4 instead of 5 cards forgetting the fight modifier which made me lose multiple times now. Please change it to force you to use 5 cards before the full version comes out. I am used to fighting it now after a few lost runs, but still please change it.

It’s an amazing game, I’ve played 10 hours of the demo, never as lucky as you, did get 5 of a kind worth 50k consistently but definitely worth getting the full game on release

There was a game released today I think you should check out called Sweet Dreams Alex. It has a similar main mechanic to veggie quest, but a lot cuter, and I hope better puzzles.
I tried it, unfortunately the puzzle design is far worse.

Ya the moving background shows how many cuts there are and it still doesn’t feel disjointed

I love the amount of custom hands there are. I had a build for “flush house” before that went nuts! This game is awesome!
This game is just oozing with creativity. My favorite part of the secret hands is that there are secret planet cards to go along with them. Just such an elegant and cool way to do that mechanic.

Minor optimization: you can use tarot cards any time you view your cards.
So at 6:24 you could've upgraded your two Jacks into Queens with Strength

Great game! The only inefficient part I think was hiker farming over money, if you just went for money with delayed gratification or hands left, you have more options to get celestial, which with every 0.1x would scale better than the amount you get from hikers chip buff.

I could be wrong, but when you're converting 2 cards to the rightmost card, does the rightmost card have to be selected? He's only been converting one while keeping one the same

I love games like this and ROLL, they seem relatively simple on the surface but the interactions of the mechanics allow for completely insane scores

Ceremonial Dagger really scales poorly and at huge cost. If instead of turning 10 sell value into +10 it turned 10 sell value into x0.1 it probably would actually be worth letting it do its thing and gradually building it up as a guaranteed exponent rather than gambling for the ones out there.

I would like to see a video of you attempting a seeded game, I was watching one yesterday, the world record, it uses one seed and they got like 14 trillion of something using DNA with glass cards. The way DNA works is that the card you use get duplicated and added to the deck, and it also duplicates all the boost things u have on said card.
Watching you skip such an early ceremonial dagger while running a money build was painful ;-;

Such a shame you kept mystic summit for +15 mult its basically nothing after the multiplication you were at 2880 mult.
Scary face was available in the shop again. It would have given some extra chips (3 queens playing twice for 120)
It would have given a total score of (478+120)*(2880*2.8) = 4 822 272

Lucky cards don't give gold. They give multi. It actually procked at least once, but it doesn't matter if it's the only card that counts.

I've seen dusk before and it never seemed that useful, until just seeing how it works with glass cards, absolutely using it if that's the build I'm going for next time!!

You may be aware of this by now, but you can use your bought tarot cards on the cards that show up when you buy a tarot from the shop. 6:26, you had two jacks that you could have upgraded to queens using your tarot. It doesn't consume the tarot card you bought, you still get to use one.

I’m pretty sure not. I think I’ve seen it before and it didn’t do anything special do being a flush, and even if not the game’s planet cards gallery doesn’t leave room for a planet for it like it does for Ceres and Planet X

Wouldn't have helped in this build at all. in fact when I say "one of the best cards" I think that only applies to my play style. I got a really broken build where I was trying to get Ride The Bus synergy by using Blueprint Robber, but I was winning for to fast while only playing high cards. My deck containted flush houses, but I never needed to play them.

Can’t help but notice Tyler’s facecam/voice is slightly desynced from the gameplay (noticeable at 13:10, when he says the value of the hand before it pops up on screen). It’s not too distracting, but would be nice if it could be fixed for future videos

From my plauthroughs, Telescope will also give you second and third most played card.
Just as some constructive criticism for the editing, because of the moving background, speeding up the tedious parts of the play by making rapid cuts is a bit jarring/dizzying, for example 19:01
I think that speeding it up instead of cutting might be better, but this is just a suggestion!
there's actually a game imploding synergy where if done right can net you hundreds of BILLIONS of points. there are multiple videos detailing how t do it
There is a broken strategy involving Dusk, Blueprint and DNA.
Hint: Blueprint can copy any ability
Only way of out doing is instead of 5's use glass Ace with fibunatchi and a negative joker with will allow you to add the ace only upgrade joker card ( you know what I mean) or adding the flush and 3 of a kind jokers

I think this game is one of the best roguelike / strategy games available and it's only in beta, i wish i could of played in 0.8.8 so that i could fill this void that's left after completing this demo entirely.
why make it a 1 in 4 chance when you can just make it "every forth", it's just better for everyone, and I guess you "rob" the player of the "lucky streak" possibility where it activates a lot more often than it should but it is very rare and most other times it will do the opposite
Devs are gonna have to put in the Alien Joker and Rock Planet cards if you keep bumping up your final chip count past the millions while still in the demo version of the game.
