@@JoshyyV2 hahaha too true! I didnt say the real one was particulary "good" either, the reason you hold it by the mag is to keep it from falling out while firing 😆 i would love the sks in game but feel like the virtual stock settings make it hard to aim down sights.

you can squeeze a pistol mag holster inbetween the two primaries.. if you hold the vest in one hand and wiggle the pistol mag pouch onto the bottom just gotta find the sweet spot itll attach too then slide into place
Thank you for the advice! I've already brought a lot of guns back to my base but I'm not at a high enough level to buy magazines for most of them, so it's nice to know I have other options I can use until I get to a higher trader level.
Honestly, I've been playing for 2 days and have never been to the traders, yet and I've gotten awesome gear just going in with nothing and taking stuff and running to Exfil. I think where you get stomped is when people get greedy and want to raid whole buildings and stuff their backpacks to the brim and then expect to get out alive with all of it. There's a general theme to the raids, but I can easily see how many players could play a raid in their own style. Just because a raid says its 45 minutes, doesn't mean you need to raid for 45 minutes.
On the level one armor of you squish the primary magazine holster together you can fit a secondary magazine holster next to it just take a little finesse.
I usually do raids with a chest rig, adv backpack, a Glock, couple of mags, and some heals. I then just try to loot up as fast as possible and stay away from fights with other players since i know ill probably lose
Both silo and island map guides are coming, tricky cause there’s no official map and a lot of the points of interests done have names, so I’m piecing together how I wanna put it together but it’s for sure coming

I run a luty with the a22 chest rig and 2 mags on my chest and 2 spare in backpack run missile silo and get confident with using it as it’s cheap and once you get used to it you will be shredding players just aim for the face majority of people you run into don’t even wear helmets - I make like 35k + profit every raid by rushing spawns and going for squeaky once everyone’s dead

Is there anything to do about how dark silo is? TH-cam videos are nicely lit, but they say that is done in post editing. I cant play silo, i havent even seen NVG's
If you go in with knife remember never to attack their torso if they have ANY vest on They all work as stab vests even if they provide no bullet protection
Ahh yea tricky at first but it lets you buy cheap night vision as a level 1 trader but the level 1 helmet is not NVG mount compatible, helmet comes at level 2 or found in raid
They just added the drum mag actually for the sks in the latest update, agreed sks slaps and it’s good, however most people aren’t great with single fire weapons especially if VR shooters Aren’t something you play normally..that was really the main thought process with why I chose the mp40 in the build
@@JoshyyV2 Good point. I really think it comes down to personal preference. Like the sks is easier to reload with bigger mags and bullets but is single fire with wonky tracking and iron sights (some times the barrel is too long and gets in the way) The mp40 has a nice fire rate good iron sights but a wonky reload with slightly smaller mags.
Oh the reload has killed me sooo many times especially when I first started playing Those moments of heart racing panic you drop the mag and realize you’ve screwed up
Any tips for recording smoother game play on this game? I did my first raid and everything ran fine in game, but just watching the footage back makes me feel sick with how shaky the recording is. Im recording on steam vr, with a quest 2, most other games seem fine for recording
I am also on a quest 2 and using the steam version of the game, umm without knowing the full specs of your PC I use obs to record gameplay and I’m running the game using the Oculus VR option…all high settings. It could be soooo many things but if the game is fine and the recording looks bad seems like a setting is wrong in OBS or whatever software your using to record if it’s not OBS use OBS lol
Okay so I bought the game 5 minutes after it dropped on quest 2 stand-alone. And I’ll be honest I was lost when I went into the room where you can sell. And I already had 10 guns, the best vests, ammo, grenades, food, water, etc without having done a single raid 😭
Yea I think due to launch issues they did grant people starting gear, you will eventually lose it as with any looter shooter haha Quest 2 I believe needs some love in regards to performance, I’m gonna pick it up on quest 2 myself and compare
@@JoshyyV2 I honestly just take one of the pistols, a couple mags, and a backpack with food and water, and start a raid. if I survive I get a bunch and if I don’t I never lose much, rinse and repeat until I eventually have to use my bigger weapons 😭
@@sebastiansheppard3850 yup totally viable however if you have nothing and need to just purchase from the market the pistols actually cost a bit more to run vs the mp40 and you don’t have as much range…I love pistol running but they cost about as much if not more in some cases
I cannot get used to the shooting. I look down the sights but the gun doesn't shoot where I think it's supposed to. And it's not always easy for me to see where my bullets hit =/
Sorry your having issues, hopefully it gets fixed in a later update, guns don’t feel perfect by any means much like tarkov I’ve found being deliberately slow and methodical is best than quick movement
@@JoshyyV2 it May just be user error on my end 😅 I see other people hitting every shot. I’m used to Pop1 and Contractors. A lot easier to shoot in those. But not as realistic
@@JoseFlores-km8hn the rear hand does play much different than other FPS games, it takes getting used to and the only way to get better is to just practice and adjust, tabor is the only shooter I’m playing right now just trying to build that muscle memory myself
I try to bring my right hand close to my VR headset to aim down sights really well, and then use only my left hand to control recoil. seems to work pretty well for me
do some target practice to check aim on your setup, there is a target on the wall in your bunker... and if you use tracer rounds it is easier to see where you are hitting!
Nah I get it sks is my preferred weapon really anymore for messing around, my mp40 statement was really just based on people sucking with single fire lol
I have to disagree with the MAC49 being bad all around. It's not the best for a firefight, but it's amazingly easy to use with 1 hand (and akimbo), but it's also a very nice ambush gun for Silo. I can't even count the amount of times I've killed others with this gun despite just starting, all because they didn't check their corners.

I was budgeting with 3 mags and a Makarov did 3 runs with it 2 ended with death and one I got into a firefight with another player armed to the teeth. Rip that dude who got DOOMED in the head with the worst pistol in the game. He left me behind 2 backpacks full with stuff a AK and a M16 I extracted with the m16 and the 2 backpacks
@@JoshyyV2 i was running the small AK74, beacuse its relatively cheap with a sight mount (OPK 7) and some magazines. its good at close, and fairly good at range vs NPCs; the dream gun for my playstyle would be a modded OP SKS..

You can but rarely do I take a mp40 and a sidearm but might not be a bad idea

Can’t beat the 762 sks. It’s really only good on island. Mp40 all day on silo
i used the sks for everything early game lol
SKS is great don’t get me wrong, I’ve just seen so many people struggle with not having the security of full auto and larger mags
I can't seem to hit things or players soak up hits all day long with the sky. I do better with a glock at sks ranges.

Yea Quest 2 is especially rough, personally I’d buy flashlights for your guns, can buy them early in the market

For sure! And traders luckily for now aren’t too bad to level up
Actually the mp40 since it’s a open bolt smg all you need to do is pull the bolt back instead of how you did and it allows you to reload faster

No should just work, but if your playing on Quest 1 standalone and not quest 2 I would just refund, unless your using PCVR with your quest 1
