If he did we wouldn't have any post-Air Ride stuff in Smash and yet Kirby and Dedede's Final Smashes are from Kumazaki material, we have music from the modern games (no remixes beyond Squeak Squad sure but is Sakurai really going to put his veto on modern games getting remixes?), Ultimate's spirits have a ton of characters from non Sakurai entries, and the Smash Wii U Kirby stage was originally going to be themed around Epic Yarn, but with Yoshi's Wooly World coming out it was changed to the Great Cave Offensive, and according to Sakurai himself, the Super Star Ultra incarnation in particular.
Finally: a good part of modern Kirby's identity is referencing the past, and a lot of elements from Sakurai's games are still reflected in modern Kirby games even if he has no involvement with them.
"Sakurai bias" is baseless speculation.
