@legoSWproductions well they hire privateers for many things... "spying"without having much risk, raiding villages, capturing ships, just attack a village then retreat once the enemy naval/army gets involved and try to have their units check it out and help making other towns weakened (because some of their guards left to help another town, village, etc leaving them a bit more exposed to attack),somethimes but rarely help out in a war between 2 armies, steal boats from docks without damaging the boat
@legoSWproductions Yes... they where often there to take down spanish treasure fleets because they are hired has (convoys) for other fleets wich is bad for an army that wants to engage it its a risk that those convoy fleets spot the ship and raise an alarm or because of the convoy fleet they may end up outgunned/outmanned or just simply to outnumbered in ships to attack without it being a "suicide" attack
@legoSWproductions well not really SOME ports dont mind pirates and hire them to capture ships but instead of reffering them has Pirates they reffer to them has "privateers"
@SuperLpfan1 cause...back then the main point of their jobs has naval captains whas the following 1.rid the seas of pirates 2. help people from pirate attacks 3. capture pirate crew and send them to a port jail 4.capture the ship and dock it for the country to change flags repair etc to turn it into their respective companies battleship.
@Nikitns still what i do find stupid is the pirate captain may have lost his sword but he still has a hook wich he can fight with but hes to scared... lol
@Nikitns no a sad ending is the naval losing and the pirates plundering and killing innocent people... that is sad the bad guys being brought to justice isnt even tho i like being pirates in games lol
Loved this vid a couple years ago and loved it, was really looking forward to another installment . . . does anyone know if OutsideHollywood is still making stuff?

@legoSWproductions well anyways port royal was really considered a craddle for pirates often pirates would dock there and stay a couple of hours or days depends but really apparently port royal was Great Britains wich where the Pirates equal in navy so Great Britain (British) decided to take the job of taking pirates off the seas but its unknown why they let pirates reside there if it really was Great Britains.
@legoSWproductions But apparently that may have ben how Great Britain become the "dominant navy of the sea" back then by hiring pirates in the name of "privateers" to capture other ships and bring it back without wasting money on crew members and less money on damages cause they only have to repair either all the damaged ships captured from the enemy fleet but not have to repair privateer ships so it was a way to get boats but not need to spend alot of money to add it to their navy.
very good 3d and compositing...but no so good animation...why you don t use mocap file? how have you make see? i like it so much at the end a lot of work very good
That was one of the best CGI Brickfilms I have ever seen, Great Job!
If this doesn't grab LEGO's attention enough to reissue the Pirates line, I don't know what will. Thanks for a great piece of work!
That was amazing.
I love the lego pirates.
One of the only Lego animations that actually make sense I've ever seen! Well done OutsideHollywood! :)
Definitely professional quality. These guys obviously aren't the average TH-camrs. Awesome work.
Not a big fan of Lego CGI, but this film has changed my mind, it is brilliantly done and just amazing.
What can I say? Beautiful music, beautiful plotline, beautiful animations... *claps*
That was a great show. I'm eight years old and I asked my dad to post this for me.
Nope, we just made it for a film academy. Glad you liked it!
I like how the sea is made of bricks ^^
This is awesome! It deserves more views!

I loved the sea. Beautiful. Wished I had ever-changing sea brick boards when I was young...
Just joking, but brilliant Computer Graphic work.
realy well done movie, gratz!
Terrific in every respect, but especially the water effects!
This is so awesome!

@legoSWproductions well not really SOME ports dont mind pirates and hire them to capture ships but instead of reffering them has Pirates they reffer to them has "privateers"
Great Stuff!
who could dislike this?!?!?!

damn that was pretty cool, is this some lego commercial thing or did somone actually go through the work to make this just for fun?
"Pirruuts?"
nice job

nice movie what did you make it in
Any chance, OutsideHollywood, that we will see more adventures of the HMS Gallant and it's intrepid crew?
good vidio
@Nikitns still what i do find stupid is the pirate captain may have lost his sword but he still has a hook wich he can fight with but hes to scared... lol
Would you guys remaster this animation?
@legoSWproductions and not need to spend money on other ships from their own navy engaged in the capturing fight.
2:22 Wilhelm scream.
oh my god I remember this
Yeah me to.
god damnit, i want MEN OF WAR animations! this is blocking them out!
what ship did you use in this film for both sides
good
LuV it
What Program Did You Use to make this i have a school project due in 2 weeks
fabuła i zakończenie ciągną laskę całej reszcie dostępnej na TH-cam animacji Lego Pirates
@Nikitns no a sad ending is the naval losing and the pirates plundering and killing innocent people... that is sad the bad guys being brought to justice isnt even tho i like being pirates in games lol
Nice use of LDraw (?)
nice how did you made it?
what program
How u made that?
boo want the pirates win
Public
A VERY sad ending.. Wish the pirates slaughtered 'em.
lol
this is e big chit :(
NICE must have been really hard! but its kindof retarted...
Looks better than most LEGITIMATE Lego movies. lol
Lego 3D animation...
No idea how I got here but I love this. The voice actors, the animation, especially the sea being build up of lego itself. :)
I've seen this so many times Isaac, but it never gets old. I really love the score that Ben did too. He should post it on his website.
I love it!
*claps*
Kinda reminds me of Master and Commander, too!
Great work!
Loved this vid a couple years ago and loved it, was really looking forward to another installment . . . does anyone know if OutsideHollywood is still making stuff?

Amazing I remembered that they should make a movie like that

WOW, LOVED IT!
Man this is good I love it
holy cow, nice animation!
I love it
that was pretty awesome, thank you...!
Wow, the Botkins practically did the whole thing themselves!
Good job
how can this awesome vid be given ANY thumbs down?
@legoSWproductions yeah i think port royal was at that the time the port with the most pirates using it.

Nice Short Film!

simply amazing. What programs did you use? The brick sea and the skull explosion are very well animated.
nice very good
Nice
wow!! how long did it take to make that? its amazing!!
@SuperLpfan1 and no the pirate ship resembles a 4th to 5th rate and same for the naval ship.
This wasn't made with real Legos. It was computer animated.
very good 3d and compositing...but no so good animation...why you don t use mocap file?
how have you make see?
i like it so much
at the end a lot of work
very good
they might have made there own
hey. great short. How did u animate the facial expressions of the characters?
It's Lightwave and After Effects I think.
