    Penny skating mini ramps to biggie smalls with xxxl pants, tiny wheels and adidas. So good. The 90s was a great era in skateboarding

    Skateboarding with no monster energy, red bull, grizzly, gopro, or street league stickers?
    Shit isn't real

      What some skaters would refer to as the 'glory days' were that shit was not involved. When skateboarding was skateboarding

    I was fortunate enough to travel over to UK in August 93 and go watch the Radlands comp. I think that was the first year people took notice of Tom Penny. I remember being blown away seeing all my favorite pros skating, especially in another country, but Tom got a lot of attention for his massive switch frontside flips and everything else. Theres some footy of the comp in 411VM #2 I believe.

      I believe people were taking notice before this. Here's the story. I'm from England, but in summer 92 I was at world champs in munster, Germany. I'm skating outside arena on a few ramps street course thing, and I notice a fair sized mini ramp. I go over to skate it, as Tom penny turns up. I already knew how good he was so thought, here we go, this will be funny. People were like, who the hell is this little kid. Within 2 minutes their jaws were on the floor. Remember, in 92 there was new tricks and new variations on old tricks. Late shove its, late flips, Nollie stuff, switch. All fairly new to most skaters waiting for weeks for the latest footage on video. It was insane the consistency, but hard tricks. If u check out his footage on the shop vid, rollersnakes 720. It's mini ramp from the same time in 92. Give u an idea .

    This is great! 1993 brings back so many memories. That is the year i started skating and the summer i lost my virginity.....not sure which was more satisfying.....i guess skateboarding was more satisfying....i was for sure a better skater than i was a sexer.... At least that is what she told me....damn.

    its so god damn crazy how good these guys were.. im so glad this video exists.. this is like the fuckin core of the flip team... penny, rowley, mould, glifberg... none of this shit you can teach.. they all just had a flow.. watching this and then watching other shit makes me baffled how much the sport has evolved.. skaters/normal douche canoes try to emulate how fuckin cool these guys were and dress like them and shit. we all will never be as cool as their style as they skated.. im not forgetting rodney trust me.. but this was like almost "punk" skating.. a little after gonz and shit..

  • @tuodekab

    • @kilgoretrout9318
      @kilgoretrout9318 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yep.. crazy how its evolved.. flip team laid a lot of foundations.. after mullen and all the street techy stuff.. but flip created their own shit.. awesome all around

      Let the lord jesus christ into your sole and except the flip in flip I had to show the brits a thing or two when they arrived at Simons, me johnno Alex and i think rosie had to sit them down and explain the method and with a few days as far as I can remember they were flipping in and outta shit like little flippers, I think that's eventually where they got the name for flip skateboards all because of me and the lads on the quay...dont mention it..👌
