    I'm Irish, so I don't have any cultural reference for the movie, but it's one of my favourites. What you said about the debt collector being English was interesting, I wouldn't have picked up on the relevancy. It kind of changed my perspective on Danny's and Sam's relationship.

    Some very astute observations here I really enjoyed watching this! While I don't think the film itself is a particularly good one, I still love it because it explores themes central to the australian sense of identity that we can relate to as well as just basic banal day to day existence shared with other humans with their own flaws. My favourite point you brought up was that Danny's success is probably not something that could traditionally qualify as success by most definitions, but escaping tragedy is his form of success. Nice work mate!

    Mmm... I think this movie is anti-boganism. This is a low brow intellectual film.
