CAPE TRIBULATION - Cut off in a River Flood - Far North Queensland Episode 53

In this episode we make our way to Cape Tribulation Camping. We spend a day exploring the Bloomfield track stopping at 'The Lions Den Hotel' for lunch before continuing onto Cooktown.
On our way back down the Bloomfield Track we get within 10 minutes from our campground and get cut off by a raging river flood from the days rainfall. We are unable to cross and have to detour 5 hours in the dark to make it to the Cape Tribulation Barge to get back to our campground. On the way we hit a kangaroo at 100kph damaging our bullbar and headlights.

Happy B Day celebrating naughty 40’s at the Lions Den WooHoo 🙌 Did ya Fry anything in Cooktown lol looked a bit moist up that way luckily ya made it back after a little side Detour what’s 5 hours when ya in love 😻. Great ya not 90 years old or that Bush would have beaten ya mate 😎 WoW that river crossing was flowing at a quick pace 😳 Stunning area by the look 👀, Feck tough Luck about hitting the Roo at 100 how close was that to disaster very lucky in deed ! Thanks Paul, very lucky we got him on the downhop or things would have been very different. Even at 60 that bloody bush nearly beat me! The river was pretty scary. The first lot of footage doesn’t really show how high it was but definitely unsafe to cross. The next day it was still flowing bloody fast but had dropped in depth. Fee will take 40’s any day!!! Lol 😂

I was wandering about the rain if you would cop it, good to see all ok. Some fantastic scenery up there we loved Mossman some beautiful river walks, we've decided we are heading back up there this August to see friends who live in Cairns. Fortunately we received our new Pajero Sport Exceed early so much happy now to attack Tassie in 3 weeks. Stay safe.

Thanks Brenton, It wasn't too bad after those few days of rain. We were quite lucky with the rest of our time up there. We love this whole area and could see us moving here when we get a bit older 😌. Counting the sleeps til Tassie I bet. 👍
