I bought one identical to this a month ago with the 1.6 Dig-T and we love it as a growing family amazing how much difference in size there is between the Xtrail and the qashqai.
Beepin Laxman thank you glad you enjoyed it and we’re happy it gave you the info you needed. We loved driving the X Trail one great vehicle, enjoy yours.
Good clear review guys, but no point in saying there’s plenty of head n legroom if you dont mention your height. You both might be outta ‘Lord of the rings’. Was after a Disco sport but now considering the xtrail. (Save a few quid all round). Cheers!
@@PlanetautoUK Not familiar with the channel, first time on it, but I think they are Michael and Ben.The two presenters at the beginning were both at it with their hands moving as they switched between speaking it is so funny.
Both eh, Michael left us some time ago it’s now Ben and Annabelle, this was very new then - check out our latest vids and you’ll see how the channels involved, it’d be great to hear what you think too. In the early years Michael used to mouth what Ben was saying as he said it, it was a learning curve, however they got over the important bits - thank you James
Qashqai or Juke are not family sized cars. Too small. X-Trail is the larger & family sized car. I had a very economical Qashqai found was too small especially rear legroom and boot. Wanted to upgrade to an X-Trail but went instead for a Ford Kuga. Reason for this was Kuga was cheaper, Kuga better suspension without compromising handling also good and better seats, better PSA 2 litre diesel engine giving 400NM torque. 4WD, adequate boot and rear legroom, spare space saver wheel, elrctric heated windscreen, Better Ford build quality.
It’s amazing what’s required by a family today, back in the 80s a Mk2 Golf, Vauxhall Astra etc was a family car. The Kuga is a great SUV as is the X Trail, lots of choice in both.
@M James The Kuga is equivalent to the later Nissan Qashqai not an x-trail, so is bound to be cheaper. The x-trail is much roomier inside than a Kuga. Will have less long-term faults than a Ford too.
You dont need the tech in these cars. In my Qashqai the rear camera was intermittent, the auto headlights were not that good in returning to main beam and lane departure is a waste of space.. gearbox is good and you forget to mention the mirrors are excellent. On some cars eg BMWs are crap so one good thing Nissan are doing. Nissan are selling crap tech to sell cars rather than improving the build quality. XTrail has best in class boot space though you forgot to mention that whilst obsessing over scratchy plastics.
That’s a broad net, there’s many people today that require lots of safety and tech in there car, especially a camera system to manoeuvre or to park confidently, Ben with a camera still looks over his shoulder and uses the mirrors. BMW’s camera - mirror system is one of the best we’ve ever used, on many models it evens records on the event of a collision. There’s lots we didn’t mention, and there’s a reason - people generally nowadays don’t want to watch a long review mentioning everything, they’d rather a snappier version, and people always want to know about interior quality, hence us changing our review style in the last week. Great chatting and thank you for your thoughts.

Picking up my 2020 tekna in September, great review fellas
Thank you, Marty - glad you liked it! Great news about your new Tekna 😎
@@PlanetautoUK cheers guys, seen a lot of reviews that seem to purely pick on this car, cant fault Nissan myself.
If it it’s not a certain manufacturer then some reviewers just don’t give it the time it deserves, sad really. Each vehicle should be judged on merit.

We recommend looking at more recent reviews, this was right at the beginning, two co hosts still today though, which many viewers prefer.
