Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by. Here is the first part of my haul over the last 4 to 6 wks. Hope you enjoy! Leave a comment if you like and have a wonderful day!! Blessings, Cindy
I had to watch this twice!!! I love all the variety! Gorgeous Cindy! Love everything and love those plates. The old used look to them really makes it special! I agree with you.!
Aww Tammy you will. Have you tried craigs list for your area? Look for estate sales and milk glass. I was like that when I first started looking for it then things started showing up. I hardly ever find any in the thrift store though it's usually always estate or garage sales. Thanks so much for watching!! Hugs, Cindy
Thank you! Have you tried estate sale? That is where I find most of mine. Keep in mind when I do a video it is over 3-4 wk period. Sometimes I have gotten lucky in one weekend. Good luck hunting and thanks for watching!!! Cindy
Thanks Rosemarie!! I love the blue china cups too and normally I won't buy that stuff but I couldn't resist these!! Thank you for watching and have a wonderful weekend!! Cindy
Wow, you really find some great deals. I wish I could find just 3 pieces in one month at any yard, garage or estate sale. LOL. Enjoy all your new finds and thank you for always sharing your great finds. Hugs, Ana
Thanks Marilyn!! I'm getting scared though, I think it's starting to dry up around here not to may good pieces. I haven't ventured into the antique mall yet and don't know that I will they want to much money!!! Thanks for watching and have a great weekend!! Cindy
Marilyn G I have learned a lot going to estate sales. Now it is real hard for me to go to antique malls because of how bad they will mark up the prices. I have noticed the prices going up at estate sales though. They have such neat things in antique malls I want to buy but I think "no" I will run across it sooner or later at an estate sale....it's the bargain hunter in me...lol!!
I totally understand that. The hunt is so much fun. Will be going to one of those outdoor fall expos at the end of Oct. that has lots of travelling vendors. I can usually find great prices at those too. Have a great weekend Cindy!
Yes, the gold was on it when new. I have been wondering if taking off what little I have on things will demenage value or does it matter when 80% or more is already off?
Cindy, beautiful glassware! I am drooling over the blue Westmoreland piece at the end! I think the heavy mixing bowl with a spout, was actually from a mixer set. I have had one of those before. Great for making pancake batter in. This is my first video haul I've seen of yours. I subscribed and can't wait to watch more tonight!! Happy Hauling!!!
Hi Cindy,Since it's been a while since you've posted this, you may already know this by now. I'm not an "expert" on milkglass but do have a few pieces .......mostly older stuff. Just wanted to add that the item at 1:05 with metal lid is a syrup pitcher. They were very, very popular in the, say, 1890s to around 1920s and you can see gobs of different patterns out there with a quick ebay search using the keywords EAPG SYRUP MILKGLASS. Some collectors of older milkglass specialize in collecting Victorian-era "syrups" which are sorta considered more "high end" pieces and not all that common compared to some of the other forms. Also, the dish at 2:07 I think is part of a 'dresser set' and those pieces were also VERY popular in the 1890s-1920 or so. Many of them were painted with a gold (brownish!) "cold paint" that often started wearing off. The white milkglass hen-on-nest dish is an Indiana Glass Company piece. Nice video... thanks for posting!
+David Whitten Hi David! Thank you for all the information. The syrup pitcher is still one of my favorite pieces. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge all very interesting!! TFW....Cindy
I really enjoy seeing your milk glass hauls. I started collecting about 6 months ago and just found my first 2 pieces of pink milk glass from an online estate sale. I have one of the smaller trays like the one you have with the gold paint on it and mine was described as vintage Victorian and the finish is the same as what you have so I think some of it has worn off, mine looks the same way. Would love to see how you display yours. TFS
Thank you Yvonne! I am so mad at myself, I have come across pink milk glass in the past and didn't pick it up thinking I didn't want to start collecting that too. Not very smart of me....lol!! I did find some info on the Victorian pieces, the name I found is Dithridge MG. Google that and you may find some of the pieces you have. I am hoping to do a video on how I store mine soon, have to get a little more organized before I do. Thanks for watching and have a wonderful weekend!! Cindy
Cindy, thanks for the info, I found the piece I bought, it is the 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" vanity tray. The pink is very pretty, I also have a couple pieces of the blue and 1 green piece, I think it is all so pretty, I have the majority of mine in my craft room which I have done in shabby chic. Again, thanks for the info and you have a great weekend also. Yvonne
