Being an EQ Vet and have played at launch for almost every single new TLP since Ragefire. This is actually a solid video for new players getting back to EQ in modern times. So many QoL changes and you cover them all very well. I must say one of the best videos ive seen covering everything someone would want to know. Well done

I started playing today (what a mission to get the game running, black screen crashes). Really had a good slow slow time starting. Can use this time to learn until May and decide if I want to pay my way to the new TLP. I am hoping server ping isn’t too bad (actually don’t know how to tell if it is or not). Though I’m not noticing any input lag or delay. Though I don’t know if 3 months per expansion is enough time for me to git Gud and move onto next expansion lol
Huh, that's really strange, shouldn't be having any issues with the game running. I have a modern gaming PC, and a $300 Walmart laptop, and they both run the game with no issues. The game certainly has jank, but if you are having crashes, I'd say something went wrong with your install, or something is interfering with the game.
Are you running the game through the official download, or steam? Whatever the answer is, I would try the other. Both methods work for me, but this could fix an install issue.
As far as keeping up with try hards, I wouldn't sweat it. For one thing, classic-velious is all basically one thing, it isn't like more modern MMOs where everything becomes obsolete. In fact, even Luclin/PoP don't really obsolete old areas/content, although higher level gear definitely changes by that time. TLPs are also significantly quicker to level than vanilla was, and there are many QoL changes that help a more casual player.
I hope you get it all running smoothly, and if you do decide to play the TLP, have a blast!
it's definitely not enough time. I only have time to play maybe one or two days a week. This just isn't gonna work. They should have 6 months per expansion. Some people actually have lives.

What's the best way to gear up a static group and simultaneously level fast?
Not to worry about gear so much is best. Pickup what you need as you level. If you are powerleveling min max and not "enjoying" the content then get to 3 via rando trash mobs, get to 6 at orc hill or crushbone (or orc camps if evil) then blast through unrest 6-30 then Lguk to 30-50. Buy your tank banded asap. Everyone else can be naked for all it matters. Use what you find or can buy for plat / krono. Only buy spells you NEED and when you hit 50 grind for gear.

Got any plat making camps/tips for classic and Kunark?
I do, A) buy Krono as early and as many as you can. B) Practice getting blacksmithing up on the other TLP for a few weeks. For the first day or three a set of banded sells for 1 krono. 100p = 1 krono on day one. I expect it will raise much faster this time around. C) Do not buy spells you do not need right now. BUY the important spells. DD's, DOTS, SOW, INVIS, ETC.. but not all the other goofy ones. D) Buy a 100% weight reduction 40 slot bag from the store. They sell them every year for like $20. That will help you stock up on loot to vendor.
All of kunark goblin skins sell real well. They are used for fixing sarnak faction for quests.
how do you get your stats on the box in the UI? lol
That was a UI window I downloaded many years ago and it still works. I just wanted one that showed the exp % so I knew how much I was getting per kill and would know the best places to kill at. Looking in the UI file its called "Nocto's Player Window" but it was a looong time ago. You never mentioned anything about Monks
Monks are wanted as pullers and dps in Classic. Pullers are always wanted be it bard or monk or ranger. Monks are some of the best dps in classic. Only downside to monk starting off is cant be iksar until kunark. Heck, even money is weightless on the TLP. I'd 100% be a monk if I didnt want to be a puller again
Why does this have to be so f***ing complicated. I didn't get any sleep. This is my one day off to start this game, and now I don't want to play anymore. They should just get rid of all these frivolous features and simplify the UI. I can't deal with this.

I don't understand why you would make a 2 hour video, without preparing at all. I skipped over most of it because you're just kind of rambling. I was interested to hear what your thoughts were on the classes, but you spent about 20 seconds vaguely talking about the Enchanter before getting sidetracked complaining about your mouse.
It's supposed to be a beginner's guide, but instead of telling the audience the basics of each class like, "The wizard is a direct damage caster class that doesn't have a pet. It has teleports and can get you into the Planes of Sky and Hate. This is the up side. This is the down side." it was you go directly from rambling about necros to saying "so the wizard isn't wanted in groups because it's mana dependent" ... ok. Why? Explain things. Maybe if you weren't trying to play the game while you talk it might have made more sense.
And by the way, talking about jboots being nerfed while talking about the warrior makes zero sense to a beginner. I don't know why you'd even include it. Either make a beginner's guide, or make a tips and tricks guide for vets.
