- The EBR in War Thunder is one of the most controversial vehicles Gaijin has ever added to the game. When it was first added the E.B.R was given an incredibly low battle rating of only 4.3! Today, the French EBR has found its way to a much more respectable 5.7 but how good is it?
The answer the question... VERY! At 5.7 the E.B.R is still very comfortable in the meta. It's fast, has a 5 second reload and a very punchy 180mm of penetration. The tank is extremely survivable due to having pretty much no armour at all so overall it's just the full package.
The EBR is wheeled so it's much more difficult to immobilise than a tracked vehicle and due to the autoloader you reload speed is always going to be 5 seconds unless you run out of ammo.
The EBR is absolutely awesome!

When the EBRs were everythere when they were out, I got a bit mad and sprayed them down with my M16 AA truck, my team thank me for that lmao

Started watching like a year ago. You had 15 or 20k subs. Look at you now, almost 100k. You are very much aprreciated for the daily vids, calming voice and top tier edits, always made my day better. Have a good one
one time I was playing the italian patton and got killed by this thing twice, once in the original, once in the premium patton.
I then brought the R3 and rained fiery justice upon him in the form of 20mm ap. The match ended like two seconds later.

Just like cancer, it multiplies and has many different variations. Some are much more deadlier than the others.

Yup, and nothing even comes close. I have both the R3 and the EBR, and it's like apples and oranges. The fact that the ingame EBR doesnt even have remotely the same mobility as irl makes it even more hilarious.
@@BadTactics101 the EBR has crap mobility on soft ground what are you talking about? The R3 is so much worse, you can almost teleport with it. EBR is easily the most overrated vehicle in the game, the fl10 is much better in almost every way at a whole BR lower
I really feel like people are overreacting to the EBR these days. To be sure, it was overpowered at its original BR, but once it went up to 5.3, it lost the bulk of that overpowered nature. Sure, it is still fairly mobile and has a good reload, but the puma has arguably better mobility, a gun that can fire high penning aphe, and a faster reload rate with a good crew.
The EBR is a good vehicle, but it really isn't that bad. This is coming from someone who both played it and faced it when it first came out.
I agree and at 5.7 it is kind of orphaned in the French line-up of other tanks. I haven't played it since the move to 5.7 for this reason alone.
@@Usually_Grumpy Exactly. Unless you have the captured Panther, it does not really make sense to run it.
Still, it could be worse. I've heard some people saying it should be as high as 7.7, which is utterly ridiculous to me.
The thing I hate about this vehicle isn't how good or bad it is. It's really easy to kill, its mobility isn't that amazing, the gun while dangerous isn't really awesome anyways.
The problem is that a LOT of EBR players bring this as their only vehicle. And when you play with France, sand say ⅓ of the team is French, all playing EBRs, it's basically a lost game from minute 1. Since they're so easy to kill, they just die in the first 5 minutes and suddenly you're playing 20 against 12.
THAT is why the EBR is such a shit thing for this game.

@@CareraDrift Keyword is "wanted". They never even thought that an autoloading light vehicle with high penetration values would be OP in 3.7 or 4.0. Took an entire community to rage on Gaijin to make the changes. It was so obvious from the start that the EBR did not belong in their previous BRs.
Though it may worked against it being that low lots of ether auto cannon spam or fast firing guns at those tiers. I find the locust fairly god at hunting ebrs for that reason

I love my EBR, easily the best event vehicle for these operation SUFFER things Guyjob does...it was well worth the turrible grind to get it.

I obliterated one of these today with the 105 tiger. That turret went 40 feet on the air. As satisfying as killing R3s

I just had a solution for the Narval dogfight cut short at 12:00 , you could have overtime like in Titanfall 2. The match may be over, but you can either keep fighting with no more respawns at all or manually exit the match.

these are the best games to play and watch.. a struggle that could go either way, not just one team stomping another
Yeah a "light" tank that took two 88mm and one 75mm hits and kept going... It happened many times to me also. So either there are issues on how volumetric and damage models works on it or what i believe is the real reason, the german shells are so nurfed its almost a joke. They pen but the "after effects" of the pen are really low
I have been feeling postprn dmg has been nerfed for the german 75long and short 88.

Hey Odd, i don't know if you do any viewer suggestions but if so then I recommend you try the Sherman II + The Mosquito FB Mk XVIII (the 57 mm gun)
I've been getting some very enjoyable games with them recently (especially fun if you happen to verse the russians, because you can easily pop the t34s)

The Narwhal confused me I first thought it was a De Haviland Vampire but it was a pusher prop plane. A configuration I thought died out after WW1.

With where the EBR is, might as well add one 8f the French P-47Ds to the game to mimic the classic American 5.3/5.7 lineup, a fast barely armored TD(m18/EBR), and a good CAS plane.

The competition for most hated vehicle is large. We have the R3, EBR, Puma, basically every German Premiun and according to some people literally anything that flies.
But of course the true most hated vehicle is the AMX-13 HOT, thing's OP as fuck 😎

When I attempt to play the XM-803 I get flanked by a T-72AV TURMS and it sucks
There is nothing weird about the heading angle tho, its just the angle from which you are attacking so if ur attacking its rear, he has heading angle 180 away from you. Panthers were known for UFPing Jumbo Shermans frontally for quite some time so penetrating its own UFP shouldnt be really a problem since it has less armor :D

While I do already hate this thing. It doesn’t even have its core function, the entire thing it was made around… being able to raise and lower its wheels for faster road travel or better traverse. So if it ever got that ability, (doubtful), it’d go even higher in BR
