Fun fact: the Santa Javelin is a reference to Playstation RPG Valkyrie Profile, in which one of the spells, named Sacred Javelin, fell down from above in a fan pattern similar to the Santa Javelin. Also of note is that the big special attacks you could combo, in the game, were named Purify Weird Soul. The Valkyrie protagonist's special attack, Nibelung Valesti, had an effect that ended in trapping the target in a sphere that was then crossed by spears of light, exactly as the rosary effect that's triggered (except the spears came from above, not below)

Great update video! Would love to see how crazy a spear build would be (lancet, santa spear and fandango). Especially because the effects of fandango and santa spear would overlap (maybe?)

Have you noticed how you got a Santa Water, Holy Cross and King Bible on this stage that relates to the Santa character? Try getting all these weapons to Lv 8 with him without evolving them.

Unless the Reaper's damage was nerfed alongside the Toastie Armor in order to kill the Toastie Ezzkizibur combo, since 50ish damage at Reaper's attack speed would still quickly overwhelm normal builds anyway.
I think it's the first time i actually watch a vanpire survivors video in the phone. i wish i didbt cuz my phone is dying now but hey... the more you know.

Well, I can confirm that Reaper's damage hasn't been nerfed. Got Queen Sigma up to 50 Armor and still was 1-shot even through ~20k HP. I also reenacted my Toastie Legionnaire run and didn't encounter the same scenario as last year of insane damage numbers.
I'd have to guess Toastie's Armor gain at lv200 was reduced a massive amount but he caps incoming damage to 50ish, like Crimson Shroud does to 10. So lv200 Toastie with a bit of regen remains invincible vs Reaper but got the Divine Bloodline interaction nerfed. So I guess I can spoil how that went now...
My individual hits were dealing 76 million apiece in a whole vomit of yellow numbers. I thought the game bugged when I didn't see a Reaper after 30 minutes. At 31:00 with no screen clutter when the 2nd Reaper spawned, I learned why: The Reaper simply died in less than 1 second. It died so fast it didn't even proc my Laurel, couldn't even touch me.
That's why I would comment sometimes encouraging trying to make Toastie Legionnaire work because it was truly unparalleled in damage, but I didn't want to spoil the surprise of the outcome.
Imagine santa water and santa javelin could be combinable. 💀💀💀

DEX seriously how many hours have you played the game and forgot DLC weapons need to have their passives maxed as well...to evolve.

Common content creation oversights. Whew, alot of C's there. Creators get too caught up in "creation" and forget the basis of mechanics, etc. Too focused on the video, and not the game. There's a thousand ways to say it.
It ruins videos for me, especially when I know the creator knows the mechanics. I can't even watch it now because it will aggravate me too much.
@@BBaham I dont understand why people get so butthurt that they try to play psychologist. I understand anyone mentioning that it happened, but you go a step further and try to put yourself into a spot you don't belong into. I know it's hard to believe, but creators are human. I know I know it's shocking, but I will forget things I've done tons of times, unrelated to whether I record them or not, especially if they exist in multiple ways. I've just recently blown my own mind on how Gatti Amari works when I looked at a document I put together, years prior.
The entire basis is wrong either way because it's not a DLC weapon, it's a base game weapon. Meaning the comment of DLC weapons being only evolved when the passives are maxed out does not apply. But just recently added weapons in the base game took over the trend from the DLC to require maxed out weapons. The first ones were Victory Sword, Crimson Shroud, Infinite Corridor, Flames of Misspell, but these can be considered special since they are related to the yellow sign unlock, that's at least how I viewed it. Fandango, Mazo Familiar and Phas3r were the first 3 weapons that used normal items that required to be maxed out. This trend is now persistent but if you are surprised that someone is used to something the way it was for 98% of his playtime and the way it is for 95% of the game, then idk.
@@DexTag don't sweat it, you're playing a lot of different games and it would be ridiculous for people to get upset about you forgetting a *trend*, since there's nothing saying it must be a maxed out passive. You're going in blind, ahead of most others I'm sure. Your videos are always a blast!

i dont think they nerfed toastie cuz u was gettin 0 damage from the Reaper
They changed Toastie somehow. I think he caps incoming damage to 50 now (like Crimson Shroud does to 10) so he can tank the Reaper still, BUT will no longer get insane damage numbers from Divine Bloodline at 65k Armor. The Reaper def still deals 65536ish per hit.
Got a longer comment on it but the short version is that the Reaper could be killed by Toastie from sheer damage in less than 1 second. No Crimson Shroud, no Infinite Corridor, just killed with normal damage from Legionnaire.
