I wanted to pass along an idea that you and Katie might be interested in. After Christmas, remove the limbs from the trunk of the tree and save the trunk. Whittle and or sand it smooth and turn it into a walking stick for the boys. Had an older friend who used a cane made from her first Christmas tree, and I always thought it was a really wonderful keepsake.

Yes! My daughter made ornaments from hers. They also burned pretty snowflake designs and the date onto them, and then varnished them. They are so pretty.
I paused at 2:53. May sound funny, but it broke my heart to see the buying of a Lowe's Christmas tree in the Appalachian area. Even I, in California, won't buy unless it's a tree farm and we once got to cut our own down. Only one year, we had to buy from Lowe's due to our budget. I'll keep watching. Just wanted to share my thoughts on breaking my heart on another life I want to live through their lens. Lol.

So many years ago 39 to be exact when we put our first tree up after our son was born. He was born Jan 17 th so he was almost a year old his first Christmas . I remember his excitement and joy ! There is nothing that compares to family. So special! My kids and grandkids are older now ,still special but we miss them being little! Our youngest granddaughter is 3 so we still have some magical moments left. Nothing like seeing Christmas thru littles! But remember the reason for the season!

I watched your sister, and her baby decorate their tree. How cute, little Ira run his head into the tree like a little bulldozer. It was so cute when you showed Woody the tree, he didn't know where to look first and then he puked. So great for your memories of 1st Christmas. When I was about y'alls age I strung popcorn for the tree, it actually gave the tree a real traditional feel. Think that tree was one of the best ever, complete with turkey feathers and all. Merry Christmas and Blessings in the coming year.
We didn't put our tree up until Christmas eve, in the German tradition. I remember my dad would bring it in early in the day to let the branches relax and it filled the house with a pleasant smell. All your lovely soft decorations will be perfect around the bottom of the tree so your little fella won't get hurt should he grab them.

I love crackerbarrel to buy ordaments. I have some really pretty cardinal ordaments I bought from there. I love to see you going down memory lane with each ordaments. You have two little boys that will be running up and down that hill between homes. They will enjoy lights this year, next year and every year from here on out. Who doesn't love Christmas lights. I love Nativity Scenes in yards or the Santa on the roof. Everything is so exciting to little children. I love to watch their eyes during Christmas.
