    My spouse and I will be at Disneyland in a few days. Last time I was in Disneyland was when I was stationed in San Diego in 1993. I used to drive up once a year to visit the park. I have been watching your videos for all the info about places to eat, all about the rides, snacks, strategies, and so on. Love your channel.

    I want to say that's a hibiscus flower, I may not be calling it the right name. But you can eat them, when I tried it wasn't quite up to my pallet, maybe I'll give it a try again down the road. I visited all the hotels back when I was on a scavenger hunt for all the Disney 100 medallions. At the end of the day I was walking around with a clanking bag of coins and felt a little like a pirate. I wasn't quite sure if I was supposed to be at the hotels if I wasn't a guest, but no one bothered me and I got to see more of the places I'd never been before. Great video!
    Oh yeah, also wanted to add I ate at Earl of Sandwich Tavern and had their prime rib. Had a lovely conversation with the bartender there and had the most amazing white chocolate bread pudding. All around great experience. I'm going back in September I wonder if the same people will be there.

    This was very helpful. We have three mornings with Disneyland reservations and we’re trying to get a sense of how best to grab a coffee and head over to the monorail for rope drop via the Monorail one of the mornings. It looks like entering from harbor boulevard we go through the same bag check as for Disneyland or dCA? Thank you!

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Correct, yes. However, taking the monorail is not the most efficient way into the park. I mean, if that's what you want to do from a relaxing morning perspective, I won't discourage you. But it'd be easier to go through the main entrance.
      There's also a Starbucks inside both parks that's accessible before rope drop. So you can head in, grab your coffee and chill out at a table outside the Jolly Holiday to wait for rope drop if you're wanting to avoid the crowds, but get a coffee and people watch.

    Hello! We have booked a last minute trip to Disneyland on Oct 17, and 18th and I'm trying to reserve table service for dinner and of course it is limited. I'm trying to decide between Carnation Cafe, River Belle Terrace and some Downtown Disney options ( Tortilla Joe's, Storyteller's, and Jazz Kitchen). If we decide to eat in Downtown disney coming from the park how do we get there? Do you have to go back thru security if we want to go back into the park? Would you just recommend finding an express location or trying standby or waitlist? We will have a 2.5yo and 11mos old so I'm assuming their meals would be free at Storytellers?
    Sorry for all the questions! And thank you for your help and videos. They have been very helpful!

    Aloha, If I were to stay at one of the Disney properties, and the Monorail is down, how would I get to and from the parks other than walking? Is there a trolly or something? I know that the monorail shuts down at around 8:30 pm, (for fireworks I assume) but does it reopen after and does it stay open for late closers?(you know, the people that put the park to bed.)

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure how late the monorail is open, but from what I gathered it’s open till midnight. It reopens 20-30 minutes after fireworks conclude. And no, there’s no other way to get back to the hotel except walking.

    blacktap looks amazing, went and looked at their website. do they need reservations? loving your videos! getting so many ideas and tips for end of September! video suggestion if i may ask please, a walk to the local shopping centre from the harbour hotels. is walmart or target best for disney items, what is the cheapest grocery store for water, park snacks and hotel picnics (dinner in not out and about ie lunch meat, cubed cheese, carrots and fruit), do they have a cheap shop (dollar tree) to get the cheap USA pens to take home for work (we supply our own pens so tradition to bring back pens when on holiday) and if you need a new suitcase target or walmart (all those pens 🤣🤣) then uber back with your purchases. so a walkabout like that would be fantastic! many thanks 🙂🙂

      No reservations. It’s basically kind of a fast food restaurant. They do serve your food, but you won’t get continual service and you order at the register at the front of the restaurant before finding your own seat.

    Where would be the best place to propose at Disneyland if I’m looking for a more secluded place?

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm. 🤔 Disneyland Hotel area is beautiful. Gorgeous. And there’s a bridge in the middle of the hotel overlooking the pool. Granted you’d have a bit of an audience there. You’re likely to have an audience anywhere. You could do it just before the bridge where it’s still gorgeous but not in view of the pool goers.
      At Disneyland itself, you might go over to Tom Sawyer island. There’s some nice lookout points from over there.
      Almost everyone proposes in front of the castle. But then you have MAJOR audience.

    • @jeremyshattell1208
      @jeremyshattell1208 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SoCalDisneyDad Yeah I know the options are limited there when it comes to a more secluded spot. Definitely don’t want to do in front of the castle since everyone will be there haha. Would DCA be better? Also thank you so much for all you continued help and info!!

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jeremyshattell1208 Possibly. If you’re familiar with the park, where everyone stands for World of Color (big promenade next to Little Mermaid) has an excellent view of the Fun Wheel (DCA’s icon) and that area is almost always empty.
      I say “almost” because if there’s a food festival going on it’s busier.

    Hi Traver and Amy! Thanks so much for a great video. Only a couple of weeks until our first trip there, so super helpful to get us informed.
    I have a couple of questions if you have a moment 😊. Is the monorail closed for a while - do you know when it will be back in use? Also, we plan to eat at Black Tap , glad you can recommend! Do you know how busy it is likely to be on a Friday early evening - do they take reservations?
    And finally, we are travelling from the uk so please excuse if this is a silly question 😉, when you purchase an item in a store in California, is tax added at the cash register or is the ticket price the final price?
    Thanks again for your super informative videos, have a magical day 💫✨⭐️!

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      All fantastic questions. According to Disneyland’s events calendar, the Monorail is closed until September 1st. Black Tap does not take reservations. It’s a hybrid quick service/table service. You’ll wait in a line to order. Will order at the register. They will give you a number. Choose a table and place the placard on the table. They will bring out your food when it is ready.
      Tax is NOT included in pricing. Anaheim adds a 7.75% tax or roughly 8c for every $1 spent. $10 is 77c and $100 would be $7.75.
