I have some of this sheeps wool packaging. Reluctant to use it in case it soaks up water, also will the bee's react to the smell of the wool ?

Hi Peter, thank you for your comment. This is a new product for us and we don't yet have all the answers, we will be testing it throughout winter to see how it fares against traditional insulation.

Any news how the bees are doing with this insulation?

I bought some of this wool insulation for my gabled roof national hive. No damp so far.

How long has this wool insulation been used? Bee keeping colleagues also suggest it could be susceptible to becoming damp. Is there any evidence this is not so?
I was about to purchase but can't find it on the website : /

Thank you for commenting 😊 This is a new product, the video you watched it us installing it for the first time so we will update you all on the good and the bad. How the product performs can differ depending on your hive set up, at the NBS apiary we ventilate our hives through the bottom which we believe will negate or greatly reduce the absorption and retention of moisture in the insulation.

@NBSNationalBeeSupplieThanks for this. I lost bees last year, my suspicion was that their hive became damp. I really don't want that to happen again.
