I really appreciate where your tutorials sit in terms of experience skill level. Some people have given you flak for explaining some of the lower level things but the extra attention that you put in to explain not just your techniques but the reasoning behind them is very useful to someone like me. I have lots of ideas but lack some of the knowledge in terms of mechanically turning my ideas songs. I'm working my way through most of your series right now haha
Hey Julien, I just ran into your tutorials. Super nice that you do this. I get something out of it each time. One note regarding delays and reverb on bass frequencies. I don't see you filter out any of the incoming bass signal into the FX. I would cut it at 150 hz/200 hz as you want to keep your low end tight without mud flying around as delays and reverb signals. It also contributes to the lower mid frequencies not becoming too overwhelmed which also results in a muddy mix overall.
Hey man, really enjoy and appreciate your videos. You do a great job getting the sound people are looking for as far as lo-fi house goes. Keep up the great work, I'll be tuning in for sure. Also as far as "a big warmer" goes, USE IT! Screw it if you're getting flak, it does the trick.
Just found your tutorials and finding them very helpful, Would love a tutorial on any Razor N Tape Artists style like Fouk, Cody Currie, Junktion, Love your work !
Hi, 1st of all...I like your videos a lot :) subbed right away. 2nd, I'm late to this party but I've got a question. I noticed that there is no root note G in your melody. Is there any reason for that? Am I missing out on a great music theory tip? :D thanks man, keep m coming! ;)
Really cool content man, keep it up! One thing, although the main chord and basslines are G Maj, the Melody is actually in D Major (you’re using the note c#) making that G Major chord actually the 4th degree on the main scale D Ionian, or B aeolian If you will. Anyways everything is Very well explained!! Subed
I'm going to be watching whatever you put out next anyway, so I'm only gonna go so far as suggest ideas. Since you know how to use effects in chain to create sounds (which not many people on here do), it might be fun to see a video on how to make a bunch of sounds. For example, how to make 80s synth sounds using just Operator (maybe like Cyndi Lauper, Def Leppard, MJ, Van Halen, Sky Ferreira's Everything's Embarrassing chorus, Solange Losing You synth (these two are like throwbacks in a lot of people's minds to the 80s synths).
When I try to do any kind of midi loops I get a clipping 'click' sound at the end of it... I'm trying to find some preferences to automatically do it, anyone can help with that issue? I already have "create fades on clip edges" 'on' but it's not working... I would really appreciate, thanks!
Sometimes you need to add a small amount of attack and release.. The pop occurs because the audio jumps from a certain level to -inf or vice versa... The speaker cannot reproduce this sudden change in freq.
I consider myself an early adapter for lofi hiphop (like 5 years ago) But I'm so late to this thing, I heard abot it 2 years ago but I couldn't be bothered fuck
also stacking 3 limiters in a row is really bad technique, not sure what having 3 separate ones is doing except adding latency to your audio processing when you could just use 1 limiter shoved harder into the ceiling
see this video for a tutorial from randomer/NI using multiple limiters to further distort a kick drum: th-cam.com/video/4_rrfFToc-0/w-d-xo.html I'd be wary of always sticking to 'processing techniques'. Obviously there's theory behind them, but it will restrict creativity. Best way is to use your ears :-)

Julien, what’re your thoughts on Huerco S.? Could you do a future video on trying to emulate that Outsider House type genre?
Really cool content man, keep it up!

Thanks for the video. Been waiting to find someone making one like this.
Do you take ideas for future videos?
glad you liked it! What do you want to see?
I'm going to be watching whatever you put out next anyway, so I'm only gonna go so far as suggest ideas.

Yeah maybe! I'm definitely thinking of expanding to some more popular styles of music, that would be cool!
Another one might be it'd be cool to see your take on Future House
Yeah maybe I'll try that!

Good shit
Da Banana Boi thank you!

fuck
i dont think your multiband compressors are doing anything, you arent actually triggering the threshold on any of the bands
true, thanks!
way to complicated :(
still love you

Jon Hadley thanks for the suggestion!
what exactly is going on under the hood to make it more desirable? ive been taught that its bad processing technique

hey, nice video, but i think most people don't need you to tell them what an LFO is, or what dry/wet means.
KRM trueeee, thanks!
what i mean is that you have to assume some basic knowledge or every video will be extremely long
Thank You Julien really enjoyed it, keep up the great work!
